⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Exploring Taipei, Taiwan : Taipei Main Station to Shilin Night Market (December 15, 2019)
As a native New Yorker traveling to Taiwan for the first time, I take the Taipei Metro from Taipei Main Station to the Shilin Night Market during my first day.
From Wikipedia:
Shilin (Shihlin) Night Market (Chinese: 士林夜市; pinyin: Shìlín Yèshì) is a night market in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan, and is often considered to be the largest and most famous night market in Taiwan.
The night market encompasses two distinct sections sharing a symbiotic relationship: a section formerly housed in the old Shilin Market building, containing mostly food vendors and small restaurants; and the surrounding businesses and shops selling other nonfood items. The food court holds 539 stalls, and the second floor serves as a parking lot for 400 cars.
In addition to the food court, side streets and alleys are lined with storefronts and roadside stands. Cinemas, video arcades, and karaoke bars are also prevalent in the area. Like most night markets in Taiwan, the local businesses and vendors begin opening around 16:00. As students begin returning home from school, crowds reach their peak between 20:00 and 23:00. Businesses continue operating well past midnight, closing around 01:00 or 02:00.
Tourist traffic has increased in recent years due to the opening of the Taipei Metro system. The night market is closest to Jiantan Station on Tamsui–Xinyi line (Tamsui/Red Line), and can be seen from the station platform.

Taiwanese night markets are amazing. You can find them in every major city in the country and they each offer a wealth of street food, and for cheap too!
Wenhua Road Night Market is the main night market in Chiayi City and we went there every night to eat delicious Taiwanese snacks like pepper buns, fish balls, stinky tofu, candied fruits, taro balls, flame-torched beef, and many more.
Aside from trying as much street food as we could, Ren also tried something she's never done on a trip before – get a haircut. A haircut normally isn't a big deal but it gets a lot more interesting when there's a language barrier. LOL

這家隱藏在景美夜市附近巷弄裡的義大利麵除了內行的附近居民及世新大學才知道，因為這家店位於景美圖書館後方很不顯眼的小巷子裡，因為餐點美味且價格也很平實，所以成為世新大學生們最愛的美食店家。玲子有來過數次，都是很多人還要排隊，我覺得除了餐點，這間店的服務人員都很美麗呢，哈，美女如雲的感覺，你們覺得呢。
如果想要知道記得來景美夜市附近圖書館後面哦，開車的朋友那邊也可以停車，但位置不多就是了，或許坐捷運到景美站1號出口也可哦。
