Xuanwu Lake
Xunwu Lake Park – the best natural escape in downtown
The 472 hectares Xuanwu Lake Park was the largest Imperial lake garden in China's history. It is also the largest downtown park in the south of China. When inside the park it does not feel like you are in the middle of a huge city. The park is laid in a traditional Chinese fashion with lots of rocks and walkways. You can see both the ancient wall of Nanjing and skyscrapers behind it. 'Old vs. new' comes to mind in this spectacular place.
Nowadays the lake park has become one of the top choices of local Nanjingers and international expats for their (evening) fitness. There are nice walk ways surrounding the lake. This is a great place to unwind after a hard day's work. Especially in the evening, this is an ideal place for jogging, relaxing strolling or just going for a walk. Different Nanjingers organize casual walking groups to circle the 444-hectare park or play music and dances. If you are interested to find out how Nanjingers spend their nights, this is the place.
The lake park has various gates. The main gate is 'Xuanwu Gate',

The history of Xuanwu Lake can be traced back to the Pre-Qin period (21century BC-221 BC). The name of the lake has changed several times during the long history. The lake gained the name Xuanwu because a black dragon was said to be in the lake.
The Xuanwu Lake Park mainly comprises a road around the lake and here five isles: Huan Isle, Ying Isle, Liang Isle, Cui Isle and Ling Isle. To fully enjoy the scenery, visitors can take a boat on the lake.

Avatar Mountain, China in 4K Ultra HD. Huangshan Yellow Mountain. 黄山
James Cameron for the movie Avatar was inspired by Zangjiagie & Huangshan (黄山), the Yellow Mountain. It is a range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as one of the most visited Chinese destinations due to its relationship with the film, this site as beautiful as it is, it is also quite busy.
The area is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks. Through history it has been a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography.
Huashan 华山 Travel VLOG (Shaanxi, China)
Visited: March-2018
Famously known as the mountain with one of the world’s “Most Dangerous Hiking Trail”, Huashan (华山) is one of the Five Great Mountains of China.
There's 5 peaks on Huashan (North, South, East, West, Centre), with trails linking them all. Only 2 of the peaks are equipped with cable car service (North and West).
On the day of our visit, the longer/higher West peak cable car service was closed due to strong winds. Thus we could only use the North peak cable car to visit North Peak 华山北峰 (lowest of the peaks). With a kid in tow, it wasn't convenient to attempt the climb from North peak to the other peaks. Thus we only explored the area around North Peak, which itself is more than scenic.
