Famous Chinese scenic spot Jiuzhaigou Valley to reopen after quake
Jiuzhaigou Valley, a famous natural reserve and national park located in southwest China's Sichuan Province, will reopen to the public on September 27 after two years of restoration. The scenic area will reopen limited areas for a trial period. Under the current restoration, the park will receive no more than 5,000 tourists per day, and it will only receive group tourists organized by travel agencies.

that nature reserve and national park located in the north of Sichuan Province in the southwestern region of China.Jiuzhaigou's ecosystem is classified as temperate broad-leaf forest and woodlands, with mixed mountain and highland systems. Nearly 300 km2 (116 sq mi) of the core scenic area are covered by virgin mixed forests. Those forests take on attractive yellow, orange and red hues in the autumn, making that season a popular one for visitors. They are home to a number of plant species of interest, such as endemic varieties of rhododendron and bamboo.

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake has wrecked the beauty of Jiuzhaigou national park, a popular tourist attraction in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The earthquake hit Jiuzhaigou County on Tuesday night, killing at least 20 and injuring 507 as of Thursday afternoon. The Jiuzhaigou national park, also known as Jiuzhai Valley, was one of the worst affected areas.
