Take a trip into the park, across the bridge and to the beach at MacArthur Beach State Park. Located where Singer Island meets the mainland, this sub-tropical hammock of hardwoods and palms is nestled against a saline estuary where you can kayak and snorkel. Beach Access - John D. MacArthur State Park, North Palm Beach, FL
Like all state parks, you pay a modest vehicle fee to enter. But it’s worth the cost. And as entrances go, this is grand. Past the parking lot, you encounter a fine, weathered sculpture of John D. himself, as well as a small, but interesting, nature center and gift shop. But the fun begins with a nearly mile-long boardwalk that crosses shallow Lake Worth Cove. Always something interesting to see here — from kayakers and student tours to teeming schools of fish and seabirds. Beyond the cove, a long, winding boardwalk takes you to an endless ribbon of beach, which seems miles away from civilization. Bonus: a beautiful grassy dune, the closest you’ll get to a seaside cliff in South Florida.

Visiting John D MacArthur Beach State Park 2019
In this video Gar and Ann from 2gether.somwhere.com share their day at John D MacArthur Beach State Park, which is named after the guy who donated a portion of the land for its construction in the 1970s. The Park, which is located in North Palm Beach, FL, opened in 1989. Its main attractions include Munyon Island, an offshore wilderness that was once home to a lavish hotel that burned to the ground in 1915. The island is accessible only by kayak, which you can rent at the Nature Center. Also MacArthur Beach, a scenic two mile stretch of undeveloped beach, and the nesting ground for 3 types of rare sea turtles, is accessible only by a 1,600 ft boardwalk which crosses the estuary taking you to the beach.

There is also wade fishing and paddling off of Munyon Island. Other Florida state parks in the area include Ocean Reef park, Juno Beach park and Dickenson State Park.

My visit to the John D MacArthur Beach State Park was fun, Although I did not spend a lot of time there it was a great park and was not at all crowded. The ocean was just a little too rough and too windy so I decided to leave. On to the next park.
I think of my life now as a wonderful play that I've written for myself, and my soul purpose in life now is to have the utmost fun playing out my part.
