Uncovering USA | David Whitehill visits the Utah Desert

Read below for full transcript:
The United States of America are so very proud about their national parks.
I mean so they should be, there's some stunning wilderness areas here to explore.
Now luckily enough for you and I, Scenic tours have done all the hard work; so when we come exploring we get to see all the good stuff
Close to 300 million people a year visit the national parks here in the states and some of the most popular spots are here in the Utah desert.
Zion national park is known for its immense valleys and towering cliffs and if you're into photography it's not a bad place to hang out.
I mean millions of years have gone into getting it just right.
As a quick Scenic stop off and if you can drag yourself away from the shopping, you can create yourself a bit of movie magic; inspired by the cowboy himself.
The tiny town of Kanab has been home to over a hundred major films and westerns and if you stay long enough and you’re cheap who knows you might just find yourself wanted.
Scenic and the Wild West offer up some really unique looking locations.
One of the charms of Bryce Canyon is because of its remoteness, it's not as busy as some of the other national parks.
But I mean have a look at these views.
Breathtaking.
Those bizarre-looking totem poles are called hoodoos and Bryce Canyon is one of the best spots in the world to check them out.
The park is set up to make sure that your visit is full of really interesting info and that you see the very best that this area has to offer.
This is surprisingly the Utah desert but the reason why it's not all tumbleweeds and dry sand is because of the ingenuity, the brilliance the foresight of one man; Major John Wesley Powell
In 1869 the good general lead an expedition into Glen Canyon and found the perfect spot to put a whopping slab of concrete.
Lake Powell was the result which now provides power to a tenth of the country and a heap of recreational fun.
It took nearly 20 years for the damn to fill up and now it's simply an oasis out here in the desert.
Being an adventurer in America's west isn't all about the beautiful scenery, so Scenic roll out the cowboy carpet for a bit of western hospitality.
It's not often you get to eat drink and boogie with the cow folk and I'll tell you one thing these guys know all the tricks of the trade and most importantly how to party.
That's how you do it, Yeehaw!

Tiffanie and Andy's Wedding Reception [May 25, 2013] san antonio wedding photographers videographers
#sanantonioweddingphotographers #sanantonioweddingvideographers #ringmountaineventcenter As an San Antonio Wedding Photographer & Videographer, I had the pleasure of photographing and videographing Tiffanie and Andy's wedding reception at Ring Mountain Event Center in Comfort, Texas on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
The reception began with introductions. Once the couple's parents were introduced, the DJ then introduced the bridesmaids and groomsmen, which was followed by the entrance of the bride and groom. Once introduced, the new couple had their first dance as husband and wife. Before everyone ate dinner, a minister friend of the couple gave a pre-dinner prayer.
After dinner, the best man and the maid of honor each toasted the new couple. Immediately after the toasts, the bride and groom thanked their wedding guests for attending.
The couple then cut both the bride's wedding cake and the groom's wedding cake and fed each other from each wedding cake.
This was followed by the father-bride dance and the mother-groom in which this San Antonio Wedding Photographer & Videographer captured some special moments of the bride dancing with her father and the groom dancing with his mother.
The bride and groom then led their guests onto the dance floor as the DJ played the Cupid Shuffle, the Wobble line dance, the Electric Slide and a few other line dances.
After a few hours of an open dance floor, the bride threw her bouquet. And after the groom removed the garter from the bride's leg, this San Antonio Wedding Photographer & Videographer photographed and videographed the groom throwing the garter. The single guy who caught the garter then placed the garter on the leg of the single girl who caught the bouquet.
As they left their reception, the bride and groom were given a birdseed grand exit by their wedding guests.
Thanks again, Tiffanie and Andy, for allowing this San Antonio Wedding Photographer & Videographer to photograph images of and videograph your special day!

Black Georgetown Remembered, 25th Anniversary
On Februrary 24, 2016 the University community gathered in Gaston Hall to commemorate Black Georgetown Remembered, which chronicles and celebrates the rich but little-known history of the Georgetown black community from the colonial period to the present.
Drawing on primary sources, including oral interviews with past and current residents and extensive research in church and historical society archives, the authors record the hopes, dreams, disappointments, and successes of a vibrant neighborhood as it persevered through slavery and segregation, war and peace, prosperity and depression. This event celebrated the beautiful commemorative 25th anniversary edition of Black Georgetown Remembered, which was first published in 1991, with a new introduction by Kathleen Menzie Lesko and a foreword by Maurice Jackson.
Moderator: Maurice Jackson (Georgetown University)
Panelists: Valerie Babb (University of Georgia), Kathleen Menzie Lesko (Huntington Library), Vernon H. Ricks, Jr (Mount Zion United Methodist Church), Monica Roaché (Georgetown’s Advisory Neighborhood Commission), and Neville Waters, III (Fifth Generation Georgetowner).

To Catch A Spinster (The Reluctant Bride Collection, Book 1)- Full Audiobook
A full-length historical romance audiobook... Come back to a time when manners are everything and rules are made to never be broken. Come back to a time when men are in charge and women do what they are told... Yeah, that never happened.
Welcome to Megan Bryce's Regencyland, where ladies with backbone get what they want. Where a woman can thumb her nose at rules and care little for convention, and yet somehow, unexpectedly and most reluctantly, find love.
To Catch A Spinster
Olivia Blakesley, self-proclaimed spinster extraordinaire, is quite happy with her life. She has her studies and her duties, what need does she have of a husband? With five sisters married she knows the reality does not live up to the promise, and does not need to personally experiment with the state to know she would be ill-suited to it. However, she finds herself envious of at least one aspect of marriage. But to experience the physical side of marriage, one doesn't need a husband, all one needs is the right man...
Nathaniel Jenkins knows his duty. Marry a young girl from a respectable family and father an heir, no matter how cold the endless parade of suitable girls leaves him. But a shocking proposal from a scholarly spinster leaves him wondering if unsuitable is just what he's looking for. Can he convince his spinster that marriage is the greatest experiment of all?
