The sound is like thunder, the sight awe-inspiring! Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara and stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 storeys above! At Journey Behind the Falls, you'll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world's fresh water crashing down to the basin below. Journey Behind The Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario
The Journey Behind The Falls attraction in Niagara Falls, Ontario is entered from the Table Rock Centre at the edge of the Horseshoe Falls.
An elevator takes visitors down 45 metres or 150 feet. From that point, there is an observation platform that takes visitors right next to the base of Horseshoe Falls. There is also a tunnel that takes visitors 150 feet behind the waterfall. Along this tunnel, there are two portals that provide an amazing view of the rushing mass of water behind the waterfall.
The current tunnels were cut in 1944 and the observation platform was added in 1951. Formerly, the attraction was named the Scenic Tunnels - the name change came in 1994.

It is beyond thought! Come, experince when the whooping water tumbling down from high above the Horsehsoe Falls!
Die am Table Rock Center auf der kanadischen Seite der Niagara-Fälle beginnende Journey Behind the Falls führt durch einen unterirdischen Stollen hinter die kanadischen Horseshoe-Fälle. An zwei Stollenausgängen steht man hinter dem Wasservorhang der Niagarafälle und sieht das donnernd herunterrauschende Wasser. Ein Blick durch den Wasservorhang ist praktisch nicht möglich. Am eindrucksvollsten ist die dritte Öffnung des Stollens, die auf eine offene Terrasse führt, von der aus man die Horsehoe-Fälle von weit unten sieht. Ein Regenumhang ist im Eintrittspreis (aktuell 12$) enthalten und auch sinnvoll. Die Maid of the Mist kommt letztendlich auch nicht weiter an die Niagarafälle heran. Bei Sonnenschein kann man durch den permanent bestehenden Wassernebel einen sehr schönen Regenbogen über dem Niagara erleben.

My wife and I went on a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada during our spring break. It was our first time going to Niagara Falls, so we just HAD to do the Behind The Falls Tour. During this time, April, there was still snow so we were not able to get on the boat. However, we had amazing views and we had a great time!
We also went to Downtown Niagara Falls and we will be posting soon a video of our experience. Hope you enjoyed!

Journey Behind the Falls is an attraction in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada located in the Table Rock Centre beside the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It is open year round and run by the Niagara Parks Commission.

In this video I got to go behind Niagara Falls and enjoy some incredible views from close up! Also got to ride a huge Ferris Wheel and play some mini golf!
