Judaculla Rock
The LEMUR Team investigates the petroglyph covered rock in Western North Carolina that pre-dates the Cherokee Indians by thousands of years. You will go along with the expedition team when they climb up to mysterious rock formations that may have relevance to this sacred site.

Judaculla Rock Filming
A production company is set to begin filming at Judaculla Rock in Jackson County. The rock is considered sacred to the Cherokee. It contains petroglyphs that archeologists believe date back to 1,000 BC. According to legend, Judaculla was a mythological giant who left his mark on the rock.
Committee Films says it will film for about a week. Some Cherokee people worry the program may skew history, and focus on far-fetched theories, like the markings coming from aliens, rather that the facts.
To change that, to alter that, to modify it does a disservice to what these things mean to our tribes and to our people both historically and spiritually, said Tom Belt, who is a Coordinator/Instructor for Western Carolina University's Cherokee Language Program.
Committee Films insists it has every intention of presenting Judacualla Rock accurately.
We can point these things out. But we can still talk about what our host believes these things are. And I know what he believes that this stone is connected to the Cherokee, said Committee Films Senior Vice President Maria Awes.
The episode will air sometime after History Channel-Two begins its new season in October. But a specific airdate has not been set.

The Local Car group at Western Carolina gets together for the first time and takes a nice, short drive to the Sonic in town. In person driving was in the red, 2000 Cammed z28. Derrick is the driver and I am the Camera man at all times.

Expedition to Judaculla Rock Nov 17 2017 - short version
This is a shortened video of our expedition to Judaculla Rock in Jackson County, North Carolina on November 17, 2017. We totally looked in the wrong place, which made it more of an adventure than driving six hours to walk around a bumpy rock as my husband called it at one point in the trip. Near the end are cuts from my official video about the site, but the wrong turns beforehand are such a part of the fun, I couldn't leave them out!
