JUDGE ROY BEAN, LANGTRY, TEXAS, USA
The most remote Texas Travel Center you'll ever find throughout The Lone Star State.
As per Patricia, one of the many locals living in Langtry, population: 14.
Famous for Judge Roy Bean
First video clip, coming into Langtry from Del Rio or Comstock, second clip entering Langtry from Dryden, both on Hwy 90.
Between clips, some beautiful photos of this pretty unique place.
Located at the border with Mexico.
Many thanks to a couple of wonderful people I've met in Langtry: Richard (video for his daughter Lauren), twin brothers Garry & Larry, Tom, Patricia and three very friendly ladies working at the Welcome Center.
GOD BLESS TEXAS!

JUDGE ROY BEAN PROMULGATES JUSTICE IN LANGTRY, TEXAS- 1882
You,
Jose Manuel Miguel Xavier Gonzales,
guilty
of murder,
I sentence you to death by hanging. In a few weeks
snows will flee, ice will melt, all nature will be glad,
Jose. But you
shall not see summer.
You shall hang from a tree's
branch until your corpse draws vultures from its reek
and naught remains but the bare bones of such
a cold-blooded, copper-colored, blood-
thirsty, throat-cutting, chili-
fed, sheep-herding son-of-a-bitch!
Roy Bean
Phantly Roy Bean, Jr. was an eccentric U.S. saloon-keeper and Justice of the Peace in Val Verde County, Texas, who called himself The Law West of the Pecos. According to legend, Judge Roy Bean held court in his saloon along the Rio Grande on a desolate stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert of southwest Texas. After his death, Western films and books cast him as a hanging judge, although he is known to have sentenced only two men to hang, one of whom escaped.

Judge Roy Bean 50s TV Western Series episode 2 of 24
Judge Roy Bean is set in Langtry in Val Verde County in southwest Texas, where Bean held court in his combination general store and saloon.[1]
Each of the thirty-nine episodes of the program begins with a standard introduction: During the 1870s, the wildest spot in the United States was the desolate region west of the Pecos River. Virtually beyond the reach of the authorities, the railroads, then pushing their way west, attracted the most vicious characters in the country. It was said that all civilization and law stopped at the east bank of the Pecos. It took one man, a lone storekeeper who was sick of the lawlessness, to change all this. His name was Judge Roy Bean.[1]

Facing our Fears! The Pecos River Bridge Near Langtry, Texas
Since we almost perished on a bridge in South Dakota due to tornado high winds. Any time we cross bridges over water or canyons gives me an unnerving feeling. I knew going out there would be two bridges that would make me feel sick to my stomach. One near Governors Landing and this one. The one near Governors Landing, the wind already pushed my vehicle earlier that day. After making it across safely, we had this last bridge to cross on our trip.
I added Summer Breeze by Seals And Crofts since it was windy this day in the summer.
I do not own the rights to Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts.

By 1881, she had become an actress and starred in many plays, including She Stoops to Conquer, The Lady of Lyons, and As You Like It, eventually running her own stage production company. In later life she performed dramatic sketches in vaudeville. She was also known for her relationships with noblemen, including the Prince of Wales, the Earl of Shrewsbury, and Prince Louis of Battenberg. Weekend in Del Rio
San Felipe Exes brought us to Del Rio to attend the Black and White Ball - with Tony as the famous emcee and guest of honor. Along the way we managed to squeeze in a little touristing. Lunch on the way was at Humphrey Petes in Brownwood, and stops included Telegraph, Texas and the beautiful South Llano River. Of course you'll see the meeting of the Exes on Friday night too! Followed by a Super-Max at Memo's. Saturday found us heading west once more to get a view of the famous High Pecos Bridge. Along the way we stopped at Seminole Canyon State Park - famous for the ancient Native American cave/canyon paintings. The unusual and striking scupture is called the Peace Bringer. We were so close we couldn't resist stopping by Judge Roy Beans and checking out the site where he administered the Law West of the Pecos. We weren't done yet - it was off to Acuna for a little shopping and sipping before a mad rush back to the main event - The Black and White Ball. Dancing the night away. On the way home Sunday - whew! Oh yeah we managed a quick peek at Fort Clark in Bracketsville, Texas. Yup, we had a flat....on the road again......
