Phong Nha Ke Bang - Vietnam (via Jungle Boss)
During our travels through Vietnam, we made a stop at the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. We weren't exactly sure where to start exploring this beast, but we were lucky enough to stumble upon a tour company called Jungle Boss. Normally we are reluctant to join a tour, but this experience has changed our opinion.
We signed up for the 1 day National Park tour with the most amazing tour guide Nga. She was funny, knowledgeable and personable. Starting a mountain hike up to Paradise cave, we ventured inside the longest natural cave system in the world. We continued on to 8 Lady Temple where we learned some Vietnamese history. As it approached lunch time, we trekked through the jungle only to find a camp site setup with tasty family style BBQ. To finish the day we took a dip inside Tra Ang cave and swam 600m in pure darkness to the end of the cave and finished with some cold beers.
We had an unforgettable time exploring Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park with Jungle Boss and our awesome tour guide Nga. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. Nothing but good things to say!

Jungle Boss Trek in Phong Nha National Park
What an epic adventure, trekking through the mangroves of Phong Nha National Park. Huge thanks to Jungle boss for making it happen, allowing us to bring our DJI phantom 4 drone with us to capture the park from above!
The trek took all day including 7km of climbing through the jungle mangroves to reach 2 beautiful caves and a tranquil lunch spot next to a fish infested natural pond! This trek had it all, we highly recommend Jungle Boss.
We went to visit Elephant cave first, before swimming in Tra Ang Cave at the end of our trek. Not for the typical tourist, this was a tough days work, but the caves and the jungle experience made it so enjoyable at the same time.
There are many caves in the Phong Nha National Park, this is just two of the more quieter options... which can only be seen with Jungle Boss.
Dong Hoi
We decided to stay in the city of Dong Hoi, approximately 1 hour from Phong Nha national park. The city seemed quiet, not many tourists around. There's a beach not far from the centre which we had to ourselves (a bit cold this time of year in February). Nice vibes, friendly people, but if we were to do it all again, we would stay in a homestay closer to the park and do several treks / cave tours instead!
That sums up our adventure here in central Vietnam...

One Phong Nha - Jungle Boss - Community activity
Addressing environmental problems has long been of paramount importance to the sustainable development of society. Especially, in popular tourist destinations, preserving the environment is always top priority of local people, organisations or travel agencies.
One Phong Nha was founded by locals and expats of Phong Nha with the vision to create a sustainable Phong Nha. Phong Nha borders the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Central Vietnam. Due to its majestic karst mountain range, unique cave systems and endemic species of fauna and flora, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage area. This is worth protecting.
The 3 caves of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National park, Vietnam
Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park, Vietnam is one of the best karst cave structure in Asia, if not the world. Situated in the north central Vietnam region of Quang Binh Province.
In this video - it will show my journey to 3 of the most popular caves: Phong Nha Cave, Paradise Cave and Dark Cave.

PHONG NHA CAVING & TREKKING WITH JUNGLE BOSS
An adventure travel video featuring caving and trekking in Phong Nha National Park, Vietnam.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park Motorbike Loop in Vietnam
I ride my first scooter in Vietnam around the Phong Nha motorbike loop in the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park. On the way, Lucy and I stop at the site of a bomb explosion during the Vietnam War, the Phong Nha Botanic Gardens, and the Phong Nha Cave; however, the water level was too high for the boats to enter the cave, so we decided not to do that.

ZIP LINE & DARK CAVE TOUR | PHONG NHA NATIONAL PARK ????????
DISCOVERY CAVE TOURS | PHONG NHA | VIETNAM TRAVEL VLOG
DAY 68 - WE TAKE A CAVE TOUR OF PARADISE CAVE AND THE DARK CAVE IN PHONG NHA NATIONAL PARK VIETNAM
Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is known for its caves! Paul and I took a all day tour with Discovery Tours to see what Phong Nha had to offer. We fed monkeys, explored caves (even in the dark!), and zip lined. Below I will give more details about our tour! enjoy!
OUR TOUR -
Our tour bus picked us up early morning to our first stop, the Botanical Gardens. There we were able to feed monkeys (don't forget to bring some bananas!) and take a short hike to a gorgeous waterfall.
Next on our list is Paradise Cave! Paradise Cave was discovered in 2005, and open to the public in 2010. Because the cave is still relatively new, it was surprisingly very well done. The wooden stairs that lead down into the cave lower you to the caves floors. There you can walk through and see all the beauty within. Trust me when I say this cave truly deserves its name!
Our next, and final, destination, is one of the most popular and adventurous of the caves Phong Nha has to offer. The Dark Cave. The Dark Cave is 5,258 meters long and 83 meters high. There is a beautiful river running into its mouth and is surrounded by a breathtaking jungle treeline. There are two ways to enter the cave, you can either zip line from the lighthouse into the caves mouth, or kayak. As you enter the cave the light immediately begins to retreat, which is why they provide everyone with a helmet and a headlamp. Hiking through the narrow sections of the cave barefoot and in the dark was quite the experience, and we were rewarded with a mud bath at the end of the cave. As you trek back the the mouth of the cave you are able to wash off all the excess mud and hop in a kayak to their water sports and zip line facilities.

Afternoon cycling in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Vietnam
After a massive afternoon downpour, I took out the bicycle for a short but breathtaking ride along the Son River. Ended up at the mouth of the Phong Nha cave for sunset.

Welcome to Phong Nha - Ke Bang
Let's experience the rural Vietnam!!!
JUNGLE BOSS - TIGER CAVE SERIES ADVENTURE
No other trek in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is more authentic and remote than the Tiger Cave Series Adventure. These 3 caves are deep in the unspoiled jungle, far from the modern world. To reach these caves you will take a newly established route into the heart of the National Park.
The Tiger Cave Series Adventure has been done by very few people. In fact, less people have been through these 3 caves than any other treks in the country. Being a freshly establish trail this route is an extremely authentic jungle trek to the Tiger cave Series, consisting of the “not so little” sister cave of Hang Son Doong, Hang Pygmy.
This trek is perfect for group adventures and those looking for an exciting challenge with an incredible reward. You and your company will camp, swim, and trek through the jungle for three days. You’ll walk and scramble the 1.6km through Tiger Cave, explore the 3.2km of grotto decorations inside Hang Over Cave, and abseil into the massive cavern of Hang Pygmy, the 4th largest cave in the world.

Abandoned Valley Phong Nha Vietnam
Exploring the abandoned valley in Phong Nha Vietnam. One of the most beautiful treks I have done on my trip. We got to swim in the beautiful blue cave water and go spelunking through another cave. Shout out to my friends at Jungle Boss Trekking Tours for guiding me through the jungle!

Jungle Boss Tours
Phong Nha-ke Bang National Park, named a World UNESCO Heritage Site in 2003, one of the most untouched and unspoiled areas of jungle in the world, with many endemic species of animals and plants, the largest and most beautiful cave systems in the World and some of the friendliest, hardworking and accepting locals anywhere in the World. It truly is one of the most beautiful wonders of the world. Phong Nha, Vietnam.
Exploring Caves and National Park | Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng | Vietnam Travel Vlog
We think Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng has to be one of our favourite places in Vietnam! It is home to the 1st and 3rd largest caves in the world, and was where some of the filming took places for the movie - Kong : Skull Island! The caves are incredible, especially Dark Cave, which has no artificial lighting, where we had to zipline to the entrance! Paradise Cave was huge, stretching 31.4km long!
We also explored the national park, which is breathtaking! Amazing views and nature. We didn't spot much wildlife, as it is so vast and dense, but we read that the Asiatic Black Bear is known to the area.
