Junibacken
Familjeparker besöker Junibacken på Djurgården i Stockholm där barnboken och sagan står i centrum för leken. Utöver Astrid Lindgrens klassiker som Emil i Lönneberga, Madicken och Pippi Långstrump möter man här miljöer ur historierna om exempelvis Mulle Meck, Lassemaja och Pettsson & Findus. Nu har Junibacken även byggt ut så att det finns ännu mer plats för lek, utställningar, musik och teater!
Visiting Junibacken with kids | Stockholm, Sweden
We decided to visit Stockholm, Sweden on our autumn break and one of the places to stop by was Junibacken.
Junibacken is a fantasy world of many popular fairytales such as Pippi Longstocking & Findus and Pettersson (our current favorites). There are many places for kids to climb, slide, test and explore.
We really recommend the Story train although it can be a bit scary for youngest children (maybe 0-3 year olds?). The queue for the Story train was long but it was worth waiting for.
The restaurant at Junibacken offered the best Swedish meatballs we've ever tasted, yummy! Don't forget to checkout Pippi's horse and Villa Villekulla.

Junibacken is located at Djurgården in Stockholm, by the water behind the Nordiska Museet and next to the Vasamuseet. The easiest way to get there is by public transport.

THEATRE AT JUNIBACKEN:
Pippi Moves In is performed by a children’s ensemble at Villa Villekulla, where we get to see Tommy and Annika meeting Pippi Longstocking for the very first time. A meeting that turns into a magnificent show of epic proportions.
STORY TRAIN:
The Story Train was the last text that Astrid Lindgren wrote and, if you listen to the Swedish version, it is Astrid herself you’ll hear from the loudspeakers. Building up the magical world of dolls, settings, lights and sounds was a fantastic and challenging task that took over two years to complete.
PLAY AND EXPLORE:
Junibacken is full of magic – and most importantly: the magic you make yourself! Come and enjoy the spectacular pecularities of Villa Villekulla, take a ride on Pippi’s horse and play with friends old and new in Storybook Square.

언젠가 스웨덴을 여행하게 된다면 내 어린시절 추억을 떠올리며 꼭 찾아가 보려던 곳이 있다. 바사호 박물관 바로 옆에 위치한 어린이 극장인 유니바켄. 이곳은 내가 어린시절 TV에서 봤던 '말괄량이 삐삐'의 작가 아스트리드 린드그렌의 동화 속 주인공들과 다양한 스칸디나비아 아동 도서에 나오는 주인공들을 만날 수 있는 곳이다. 동화 속 무대에서 아이들은 저마다 상상력을 키우며 실제 주인공이 되기도 하며 즐거운 시간을 보내고 있었다. 하지만 뭐니뭐니해도 이곳에서 최고 인기 주인공은 삐삐. 동화책이며 다양한 캐릭터 제품들과 인형까지, 삐삐는 단순한 어른들의 추억 속 인물이 아닌 살아있는 소녀인 듯 했다. 유니바켄의 2층에는 동화 속 삐삐의 집이 있다. 삐삐의 집 앞에선 아이들보다 어른들이 더 즐거워하며 삐삐가 타던 말 위에서 사진 찍기에 분주했다. 삐삐가 살던 집안으로 들어서자 내 머릿속에 숨어있던 기억들이 떠올랐다. 두 갈래로 땋아 묶은 빨간 머리에, 얼굴 가득한 주근깨, 빼빼 마른 몸에, 자기 발보다 훨씬 큰 신발을 신고 다니는 힘 센 꼬마장사. 그런 생각을 하는 사이, 어릴 적 내 우상이었던 삐삐가 갑자기 눈앞에 나타났다. 삐삐를 따라한다고 아빠구두를 신고 다니다 엄마에게 혼났던 일, 높은 데서 뛰어내리다 다리 부러졌던 일. 삐삐는 내 어린시절 추억 그 자체다.
