A popular tourism area of Bangladesh is Kaptai, Rangamati. Journey by Boat on the Lake will give you a eye-catching natural view.

কাপ্তাই লেক, রাঙ্গামাটি ।। Kaptai Lake, Rangamati

Kaptai Lake the largest man-made freshwater body in Bangladesh. Though created primarily for hydroelectric power generation, it contributes to produce significant quantity of freshwater fishes, navigation, flood control and agriculture, etc. The reservoir was created by damming the river karnafuli near kaptai town in the chittagong hill tracts (Latitude 22°09'N and Longitude 92°17'E). The lake is confined within the hill district rangamati and embraces the upazilas of Rangamati Sadar, Kaptai, Nannerchar, Langadu, Baghaichhari, Barkal, Juraichhari and Belaichhari.

The 'H'-shaped Kaptai Lake has two arms, joined by a narrow gorge near Shubalong, a part of the old Karnafuli river. Kasalong, the right arm of the lake, is fed by two streams, the Mayni and the kasalong, in the north and laterally by the Karnafuli. The left arm, Rangamati-Kaptai is fed by two streams, the Chengi in the north and the Rinkhyong in the south. The Karnafuli forms three prominent loops one at Rangamati, one at Dhuliachhari and the other at Kaptai. The Rangamati and the Dhuliachhari loops are now under the reservoir of the earth-filled dam. The Kaptai Lake has drowned almost the whole of the middle-Karnafuli valley and the lower reaches of the Chengi, Kasalong and Rinkhyong rivers. The shoreline and the basin of Kaptai Lake are very irregular. Its important morphometric and hydrographic features are as follows: surface elevation 31.1m, surface area 58,300 ha, volume 524,700 cu m, total annual discharge 1,707,000 cu m, storage ratio 0.31, mean depth 9m, maximum depth 32m, outlet depth 15.5m, mean annual water level fluctuation 8.14m, growing season 365 days, total dissolved solids 76 ppm and specific conductance 144 mhos at 25°C.

Beauty of Kaptai Lake / কাপ্তাই লেক / Travel Guide / 2018

Kaptai Lake is the largest man-made freshwater lake in Bangladesh. Even though it was created mainly for hydroelectric power generation, it plays a vital role for producing freshwater fishes, power generation, flood control and agriculture, etc. This lake was invented by damming the Karnafuli river water near kaptai town in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The Kaptai lake is limited within the hill district rangamati and embraces the upazilas of Rangamati Sadar, Barkal, Juraichhari, Kaptai, Nannerchar, Langadu, Belaichhari, and Baghaichhari. The Kaptai Lake’s average depth is about 100 feet and maximum depth is about 500 feet. it is the most beautiful place to visit in Bangladesh.

কায়াকিং - কাপ্তাই কায়াক ক্লাব । বোট প্রতি ঘন্টা ২৫০ টাকা । স্টুডেন্ট কার্ড দেখালে ৫০ টাকা ছাড়।

ঢাকা থেকে রাঙ্গামাটি নন এসি বাস ভাড়া ৬২০ টাকা করে নিবে আর এই স্পট গুলাতে ঘুরতে ট্রলার রিজার্ভ নিতে পারবেন ২০০০-২৫০০ টাকায় । ট্রলার ভাড়া নিবেন রিজার্ভ বাজার থেকে তাহলে কম টাকায় ট্রলার ভাড়া নিতে পারবেন ।
খরচ:-
বাস ভাড়া জন প্রতি ৬২০*২=১২৪০ (আসা যাওয়া মিলে ১২৪০ টাকা)
রিজার্ভ বাজার হতে ট্রলার ভাড়া = ২০০০/৪, জন প্রতি ভাড়া ৫০০ টাকা
শুভলং টিকেট জন প্রতি = ১৫ টাকা
ঝুলন্ত ব্রিজ টিকেট জন প্রতি = ২০ টাকা
আর খাবার ৩ বেলা ২০০*৩ = ৬০০ টাকা
মোটঃ ২৩৭৫ টাকা ।
আমরা ৪ জন গিয়েছিলাম এবং আমাদের জনপ্রতি খরচ হয়েছে = ২৩৭৫ টাকা ।

Kaptai Lake is the largest lake in Bangladesh. It is located in the Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati District of Chittagong Division. The lake was created as a result of building the Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River, as part of the Karnaphuli Hydro-electric project.

Rangamati is the administrative headquarters of Rangamati Hill District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. It is also a capital city of Chittagong Hill Tracts.

This time we visit Beauty of Bangladesh Rangamati Kaptai Lake . this is relay Beautiful . today we visit some popular tourist spots of this lake like Beauty of Kaptai Lake , Shuvolong Waterfall , Shuvolong Market , Adivasi Village , And Complete Lunch on the lake Restaurant .
