Bakumatsu (The Ambitious) 1970 Daisuke Itō
Bakumatsu means the end. In this case the end of the 300 year Tokugawa Shogunate. Ryoma Sakamoto, often seen as the architect of a classless Japan, was actually hated by members of the Shogunate as well as the rebels.
RX10 Movie:Senzoku-ike pond Blooms on plum trees and water birds 洗足池の梅と水鳥
I visited Senzoku-Ike pond this afternoon. The area around this pond is built as a park for inhabitants. Japanese phrase 洗足(pronounced as Senzoku)means washing a person's foot. The origin of this name is this pond was a place where one of most famous saint Nichiren(日蓮上人)washed his feet with water of this pond. Nichiren is a person who established one of most major branches of Buddhism Nichirenshu(日蓮宗). I have uploaded the videos about a temple Ikegami-Honmonji(池上本門寺), Ikegami-honmonji is the centre of this religion and that temple is the last place of a saint Nichiren-shonin. There are lots of things like temples that connect to this religion in southern part of Tokyo and the border between Tokyo and Kanagawa prefecture. Now you can enjoy watching flowers on plum trees in Tokyo. It will take a bit that they fully bloom but it is time to go out for watching blooms on plum trees and to take your camera outside to shoot these blooms. I had never known about before, there is a tomb of Kaishu Katsu(勝海舟) and monuments of Takamori Saigo(西郷隆盛). Both of them are people who played a prominent role to establish a new government and new political system as a base of modern society like european countries in those days.
