City County Heritage Museum Indoor Tour - Paducah, Texas
The kind lady who curates this small museum in Cottle County Texas did not want to appear on camera so I had to wing by myself without much knowledge of the county history are the artifacts in the museum. #PaducahTexas #MuseumTour #TexasHistory
I have visited during three annual county old-settler reunion celebrations and traveled through Paducah a number of times and have always found the residents friendly and interesting to visit with. I recorded some of their stories which you can find by clicking on the first link just below the video.

UP E-9 units, Katy Texas USA 1994
On November 5th, 1994, a special charter train left Houston, moving West along the old Katy line. The special was hauled by Union Pacific's last E-9 high speed diesel-electric locomotives; 951, 963B and 949. The E-9s were built in 1955.
The train consisted of 19 coaches, including five dome cars.
I captured the action from the West side of Houston betewwn 610 and Highway-8 all the way out to the bridge over the Brazos river.
This line no longer exists East of Katy. It was removed when Interstate 10 was widened.
I hope that you enjoy this historic footage.
Katy Tigers smash Atascocita, moving to 2-0
Lots of movement after a huge slate of games in the Bayou City during Week 2.
The undisputed No. 1? Katy smashed Atascocita 56-14, looking ferocious again. Cy-Fair bumps up to No. 3, while Tompkins, Klein Oak and Pearland continue to look impressive.
Dickinson and Cy Ranch lost to in-state powers Allen and Converse Judson. Travis flexed against Class 5A power Foster, while Tomball Memorial is rolling with an impressive offense.

KATY'S COUNTRY: A new DVD from Main Track Media
ORDER HERE:
Join host and producer “Locomotive” Mike Landis for the story of a railroad fighting to survive in the 1980s. Linking the metropolises of Missouri with the cities and ports of the Lone Star State, the Katy Railroad served the south-central U.S. for nearly 120 years. Officially known as the Missouri-Kansas-Texas, this quaint regional line found itself by the 1980s struggling to succeed as neighboring railroads consolidated to form mega-systems. By the latter part of the decade, the MKT itself was in the process of being merged into the Union Pacific system, and her days as an independent railroad were numbered. Ken Kaiser, a railroad enthusiast living in Clinton, Missouri along Katy’s Sedalia Subdivision, saw the writing on the wall and sought to capture the last days of his favorite hometown railroad. With his camcorder in hand, Ken was there to witness Katy’s last hurrah in Henry County. His rare footage has been compiled into this feature video, Katy’s Country: Recalling the Final Days of a Midwestern Mainline. In this narrated 65-minute show, you’ll witness an eclectic mix of colorful locomotives heading up freight, piggyback, coal, and local trains bouncing along rickety rail- much of which was abandoned soon after these memories were captured. As an added bonus, Mike takes you back to Henry County 30 years later and provides an update on the town’s railroad remnants. Any train buff will enjoy the action-packed trip experienced in this release by Main Track Media.
Mike Landis, who produces and narrates The Main Track, is available for your voiceover project.

High school football: Katy leads pack of 2-0 teams after Week 2
A week after surviving a test against North Shore, the Katy Tigers used their Week 2 matchup with Atascocita to pounce on their prey.
The Tigers got five touchdowns on the ground, including two by senior Ronald Hoff Jr., as part of a 56-14 mauling of the Eagles on Friday night.
Tigers quarterback Bronson McClelland tossed two touchdowns of his own, going 11-for-15 for 207 yards. He also connected on a 77-yard pass to senior Jordan Patrick.
Katy's defense also reeled in a pick-six by Hunter Washington.
Katy, the No. 2-ranked team in the state, improved to 2-0 in 2019.
It was a very important game to us, McClelland told ABC13 content partner Vype. People say rankings don't matter but they are a highly-ranked team in the state. They have some good athletes; they played a good ball game. We just came out here and did what we did.

JB's Journal - New Birmingham, Texas - lost to the past
East Texas has had several towns that eventually died out and disappeared. In the late 1800’s, a community developed near Rusk called New Birmingham…nicknamed the “Iron Queen of the Southwest.” In this J.B.’s Journal, J.B. Smith shows us what happened to this town.
-------------------------------------------------------
The last building of the town was the schoolhouse and it was torn down in 1932 to make way for the highway. You can view the artifacts from New Birmingham in Rusk at the Heritage Center of Cherokee County

Places to see in ( Dallas - USA )
Places to see in ( Dallas - USA )
Dallas, a modern metropolis in north Texas, is a commercial and cultural hub of the region. Downtown’s Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza commemorates the site of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. In the Arts District, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Crow Collection of Asian Art cover thousands of years of art. The sleek Nasher Sculpture Center showcases contemporary sculpture.
Dallas is the largest and most populated city in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, which is also referred to as DFW, North Texas, or The Metroplex. Located in the north central portion of the state, The Metroplex is the most populated area in Texas. The City of Dallas by itself is the third most populated in the state behind Houston and San Antonio. DFW is home to the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, and you'll regularly be reminded of The Metroplex's mass enthusiasm for the team. With more shopping centers per capita than any other city in the US, Dallas is also known as a shopper's paradise.
Dallas is Texas' most mythical city, with a past and present rich in the stuff that American legends are made of. The 'Big D' is famous for its contributions to popular culture – notably the Cowboys and their cheerleaders, and Dallas, the TV series that once was a worldwide symbol of the USA. An upscale ethos makes for a vaunted dining and shopping scene, where the more conspicuous your consumption, the better.
