Kayaking on Lake Michigan with Kayak Chicago
Getting seasick yet?
Shot on September 27, 2014.
Kayaking at Lake Michigan - Chicago, IL
Music: Silent Partner - Spring In My Step
Camera: GoPro Hero 4 Black
Location: Chicago Water Sport Rentals at 31st Street Harbor (41.834588, -87.604831)
Kayaking is the use of a boat (specifically a kayak) for moving across water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation. Most kayaks have closed decks, although sit-on-top and inflatable kayaks are growing in popularity as well.

Kayak Camping Illinois
This trip took place in Northern Illinois in FEBRUARY. We took advantage of the unseasonably warm temps to do this amazing adventure down the lower Fox River. The trip begins in Millbrook, IL and ends in Wedron, IL just before the Fox empties into the Illinois River. The distance was about 25 miles. Special thanks to C&M Canoe Rentals for letting us use their launch to take-out even though it's still technically closed for the season. Thanks for watching.
PS... Can you see the deer at the 1:45 mark?

Canoeing at Cypress Swamp in Southern Illinois
We are fortunate that Illinois is full of some truly amazing sights. If you ask the typical person where they should visit, they might say Chicago or Starved Rock State Park. But perhaps the most interesting place to visit is the Cache River State Natural Area.
This place has been on our bucket list for a while, thanks to April and Mark Swenson for introducing this place to us.The Cache River State Natural Area is one of the coolest sights: the bald cypress. Yes, we're talking about trees. These trees are amazing.
The trees grow right out of the water, with large trunks emerging from the green swamp. It’s magical, a little creepy, and gorgeous all at the same time. Walking paths make this easy to navigate for people of varying abilities.
We recomend you to travel to the bottom of the state, yes, Chicagoans, there is life below I-80–but it is so worth it. This is a gem that most people know nothing about.
Go check out Heron Pond and for your Canoe and kayak needs.Contact White Crane Canoe Rentals and look for Mark, tell him RianLake Adventures sent yah !

Kyte River, Rochelle Illinois Kayak trip
My 1st ever video. Thought it would be appropriate to be on my childhood river. Flat water kayak trip in Ogle county Illinois just west of Rochelle Illinois. You can actually kayak all the way to the rock river in Oregon but you better make sure the water is up. it's a very shallow creek. there were no tree jams on this day and there usually are not.
