Sunbury-on-Thames is a town in Surrey, England, 16 miles from Charing Cross. Sunbury railway station is on a branch line from London Waterloo and the town is also on the M3 motorway. Lower Sunbury contains most of the town's parks, pubs and listed buildings and is home to Kempton Park Racecourse, served by its own railway station. Offices and hotels form part of its labour-importing economy. Retail buildings are at Sunbury Cross and in four parades. By Sunbury Park is a public walled garden which has a large millennium tapestry in its art gallery/café. Most of Sunbury's riverside is privately owned, including Wheatley's Ait and Sunbury Court Island.
On the outskirts of London, Sunbury is surrounded by other suburban towns, with Feltham to the north, Hampton to the east, Ashford to the northwest, and Walton-on-Thames to the south. Sunbury is bordered by the River Thames to the south and green buffer zones preventing merger with Shepperton and the outer parts of London.
Sunbury was in the Middlesex Domesday map in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Suneberie. Its Domesday assets were: 7 hides. It had 5 ploughs, meadow for 6 ploughs, cattle pasture. It had about 22 households, including one priest and have included the manor of Kempton, Kynaston, Chenneston, Kenton or Kenyngton, listed separately. The manor rendered £6 per year to its feudal system overlords. That of Kempton rendered £4.
Sunbury Court in Lower Sunbury (b.1723) is the home of the high council of the Salvation Army since 1925. Sunbury has the main home, Hawke House, of Admiral Hawke who blockaded Rochefort in 1757 and in 1758 he directed the blockade of Brest for six months. Its three parts are Georgian buildings with small gardens to front and rear. The vast bulk of the land behind and across the road belonging to the house was re-planned in stages in the mid 20th century as private detached homes with gardens.
( Sunbury - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Sunbury . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Sunbury - UK

Elegant Residence in Cobham, England, United Kingdom | Sotheby's International Realty
Presented by United Kingdom Sotheby's International Realty
For more information go to
This has to be one of Cobham's most attractive houses. Divided into two, but available as a whole, these houses are simply magnificent. An opportunity to acquire a property of such classic proportions and renovated to these standards in such a beautiful setting, is rare indeed.
Although local records show that a house, originally designed as a gentleman’s residence within an estate, has been on Fairmile Court for over two hundred years, the property in its present form, was actually constructed in the late 19th Century as inscribed on a cornerstone dated MDCCCLXXIX.
The house took its name from a straight section of the Old Portsmouth Road between Esher and Cobham, which is now the A307. This was considered to be a ‘fair mile’ on which to try out a horse and carriage and in later times, the trotting horse. It was the only length of road for miles around that was actually straight, hard and level, although its surface was made up of gravel.
In the earlier part of this century the ‘fairmile’, as the road became known, was a notorious speed trap for the pioneer motorist. It is said to be the place where the famous AA salute originated, not necessarily out of courtesy, but more in order to warn the unwary drivers of a hidden police patrol.
Situated in one of Cobham’s most highly desirable residential neighbourhoods, Fairmile Court House is ideally placed to take full advantage of the excellent communication links and the comprehensive range of facilities available within the immediate area.
Central London is approximately 17 miles away via the A3 and the nearest M25 junction (10) is about three miles from the site providing direct access to the National Motorway Network and Heathrow or Gatwick Airports. The nearest station at Stoke D’Abernon has a large car park and frequent trains that reach London Waterloo in approximately 40 minutes. There is a comprehensive selection of both state and private schools in the area including the American Community School, which is within a reasonable walking distance of the site. Leisure pursuits are well catered for with local clubs covering most sports and social activities. Golf enthusiasts have a number of courses available on which to play and for racegoers, there is a choice Sandown Park, Kempton Park or Epson Racecourses.

Places to see in ( Lingfield - UK )
Lingfield is a village, civil parish and post town in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England. Lingfield Park is home to horse racing across a large catchment from Folkestone to Epsom. Lingfield is centred 23.4 miles (37.7 km) south of London and lies to the east of the A22 where it runs between Godstone and East Grinstead. The village has a medieval church that is Grade I listed, timber-frame architecture from the Tudor period and century before and a punishment cage, last used in 1882 to hold a poacher, made in 1773.
Lingfield's location in Tandridge District is shown above. The Prime Meridian passes close to the western border of Lingfield. London is (centred) 23.4 miles (37.7 km) north-by-northwest and Oxted, the administrative centre of Tandridge is 5.3 miles (8.5 km) north. Guildford, Surrey's county town is 24.3 miles (39.1 km) west-by-northwest.
Trains run most notably from Lingfield railway station to London Victoria station and London Bridge station. Refurbishment, finished in Spring 2013, of the Bluebell Railway made that steam tourist service accessible directly by car or modern train. East Grinstead railway station is a modern terminus of this formerly through-line to Lewes and beyond: the town of East Grinstead is just two stations south.
