A first-person perspective London walk tour of Kensington High Street.
Experience all of the sights and sounds as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of London, featuring Kensington High Street, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The route begins outside the entrance to Holland Park, then moves east along Kensington High Street, ending outside the entrance to Kensington Gardens, close to Kensington Palace.
Sights seen along the tour include a great variety of shops, bars and restaurants (including Byron Kensington, YO! Sushi, Snow+Rock, Metro Bank, Studio B, COS, McDonald’s, ZARA, American Apparel, TK Maxx, Wagamama), London buses, and the Royal Garden Hotel.
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!

In this video tour, David Hill of New York Habitat ( explores the thriving districts Kensington & Chelsea in London! The Royal borough of Kensington & Chelsea is the most densely populated in the UK and one of the wealthiest. The borough stretches roughly from Harrow Road in the north to the banks of the Thames in the south, and from Finborough road in the west to Hyde Park in the east. It is the most popular accommodation destination for visitors coming to the city for a short period. In the tour, we'll explore the best shopping spots in the area, stop by museums such as the Natural History Museum, have a look at famous neighborhoods such as Notting Hill and visit parks such as Kensington Gardens!
Shopping in Kensington and Chelsea
The tour starts at one of the most popular shopping destinations in London: Kensington High Street. Kensington High Street boasts many chain stores known throughout the world, such as Marks & Spenser, H&M, Whole Foods Market, and many more. In Chelsea, King's Road is the place to be. King's Road features many boutiques stores, which you can find all the way up to Sloane Square. From Sloane Square, Sloane Street runs north to Knightsbridge and Hyde Park. At Sloane Street, you'll find the best of fashion at stores such as Gucci, Prada, Versace, Jimmy Choo and more. Along Knightsbridge, you'll find Harrods: arguably London's most famous department store.
Culture & Famous Museums in Kensington & Chelsea
In Kensington you can find the Natural History Museum, which boasts over 70 million items in its five main collections Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeantology and Zoology. The Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum are located just blocks away. In between the Natural History Museum and the Albert Memorial, which can be found in Kensington Gardens, lies the Royal Albert Hall. This impressive building hosts concerts, plays and operas. All these buildings together show South Kensington really is a central point of art and culture in London.

When you're visiting Kensington, of course you also have to stop by its famous parks. Kensington Gardens is the western half of Hyde Park, and includes the Albert Memorial. Stroll through the park to feel miles away from the busy city life. After a long afternoon of exploring Kensington, end the day in one of Kensington's excellent pubs or restaurants.

Rather Splendid Walking Tour of Kensington - London
Joolz takes you on a quirky and rather splendid walk around Kensington, one of London's most exclusive neighbourhoods. See the shops where Princess Diana frequented and the house where Freddie Mercury lived.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is where Kensington Palace sits and hence Princess Diana walked these streets. Tuesday morning drive around Kensington. The area has some of London's most expensive streets and garden squares. Famous residents include Elton John, Richard Branson, Rowan Atkinson, Eric Clapton, Robbie Williams, Prince William and Kate, and many more.

Kensington is an affluent district in the West End of central London. Kensington is, in general, an extremely affluent area, a trait that it shares with Chelsea, its neighbour to the south. At about the turn of the 21st century the Holland Park neighbourhood became particularly high-status. In early 2007 houses sold in Upper Phillimore Gardens, immediately east of Holland Park, for over £20 million.
The focus of the area is Kensington High Street, a busy commercial centre with many shops, typically upmarket. The street was declared London's second best shopping street in February 2005 due to its wide range and number of shops. However, since October 2008 the street has faced competition from the Westfield shopping centre in nearby White City.
Notable attractions and institutions in Kensington include: Kensington Palace in Kensington Gardens; the Royal Albert Hall opposite the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park; the Royal College of Music; the Natural History Museum; the Science Museum; the Victoria and Albert Museum; Heythrop College; Imperial College; the Royal College of Art and Kensington and Chelsea College. The Olympia Exhibition Hall is just over the western border in West Kensington.
London is the capital of and largest city in England and the United Kingdom, with the largest municipal population in the European Union. Standing on the River Thames in the south-east of England, at the head of its 50-mile (80 km) estuary leading to the North Sea, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. Londinium was founded by the Romans. The route begins within the entrance to the gardens off Kensington High Street, then along Dial Walk to the south view of Kensington Palace, moving round onto Broad Walk to the east entrance to the palace, next across to the Round Pond, then back along Broad Walk towards Bayswater Road, where the tour concludes.
Sights seen along the tour include Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens, King William III Statue, Queen Victoria Statue, and Round Pond.

Hyde park is contiguous with Kensington Gardens; although often still assumed to be part of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens has been technically separate since 1728, when Queen Caroline made a division between the two. Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London, and one of the Royal Parks of London. The Park is the largest of four parks which form a chain from the entrance of Kensington Palace through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, via Hyde Park Corner and Green Park (19 hectares), past the main entrance to Buckingham Palace and then on through Saint James's Park (23 hectares) to Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall. The park is divided in two by the Serpentine and the Long Water.
Hyde Park was created in 1536 by Henry Vlll for hunting. He acquired the manor of Hyde from the canons of Westminster Abbey, who had held it since before the Norman Conquest; it was enclosed as a deer park and remained a private hunting ground until James I permitted limited access to gentlefolk, appointing a ranger to take charge. Charles I created the Ring (north of the present Serpentine boathouses), and in 1637 he opened the park to the general public.There are five London Underground stations located on or near the edges of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens (which is contiguous with Hyde Park)
