Kettering is a town in Northamptonshire, England, about 81 miles north of London and 15 miles from Northampton. Kettering is mainly situated on the west side of the River Ise, a tributary of the River Nene which meets at Wellingborough. Originally named Cytringan, Kyteringas and Keteiringan in the 10th century, the name Kettering is now taken to mean 'the place (or territory) of Ketter's people (or kinsfolk).
Kettering is twinned with Lahnstein, in Germany and Kettering, Ohio, in the United States. Being part of the Milton Keynes South Midlands (MKSM) study area along with other towns in Northamptonshire, the town of Kettering is due to get around 6,000 additional homes mainly to the east of the town. Kettering , like other towns in the area, has a growing commuter population as it is located on the Midland Main Line railway, which has fast InterCity trains directly into London St Pancras International taking around 1 hour. This gives an interchange Eurostar services to Continental Europe.
The A14 skirts the west and south of the town, links the town with the A45 dual carriageway, M1 and M6 motorways. The A6003 links Kettering to Corby. The A43 links Kettering with Corby and the county town of Northampton and the A509 ( Kettering / Wellingborough Road ) links Kettering with Wellingborough. Rail services operated by East Midlands Trains depart every 30 minutes from Kettering to St Pancras International railway station, with an average journey time of 59 minutes.
Wicksteed Park is an amusement park in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England. The park opened in 1921. It is the second oldest theme park in the UK; the oldest is Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight. It is located 2 miles (3.2 km) from the A14 and is signposted from the M1 & A1 and located near the Midland Main Line between London and Sheffield.

UK: The Midland HST train passes through Kettering station (June 2013)
After being introduced to British Rail more than 30 years ago, HST (or InterCity 125) trains are still fully active on British main lines. This HST train heading from Nottingham to London St. Pancras passes through Kettering Station at speed of nearly 100 mph (or 160km/h).

As far as I'm aware I have never uploaded a full video from Kettering station. I've taken a few shots from here, but never a full length video. So anyway on Monday 10th July 2017 I headed to Kettering for a few hours during the late evening to catch some of the peak time services in action.
Kettering is in Northamptonshire and is the last station on the Midland Mainline route before the Corby line branches off to the right just North of Kettering station, while the rest of the mainline continues towards Market Harborough, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and beyond.
Not all that much in the way of variety but still some great shots of the VP-185 powered HST's and of course the class 222 Meridians. There's also a couple of DB 66's included as well.
This footage was accumulated between 18:30 & 21:30.

welcome back to another video from Spottersuk, today we're at Kettering for Trains at Kettering on the Midlands Mainline.
Kettering is a very unique station with 4 platforms which curve in and out of the station, which makes for a very interesting sight when the trains fly past at 125Mph.
Kettering is served by EMR with services bound for London, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and also Corby, with service calling at Kettering and also passing through. there is also a wide range of freight services that pass through the station, which means that Kettering is defiantly a station that you should visit.
The view at the rear end of the station is very good as the track curves left which allows you to get a great shot of the trains flying straight through the station, I thoroughly enjoyed Kettering and will be returning soon.

Video: A windy and rainy evening rush hour spotting trains at Kettering station on the Midland Main Line, featuring many peak hour fast and stopping East Midlands Trains services as well as TfL Rail / Crossrail 345062 storage move hauled by ROG/Europhoenix 37611. This was working the 592L 1347 Old Oak Depot to Worksop Down Yard move.
This was filmed during the transition phase from the Stagecoach East Midlands Trains franchise to the Abellio East Midlands Railway (EMR), so some shots of the station rebranding is also shown.
Some highlights included: The ex-Grand Central EMT Angel HST sets (incl. 43484 in its EMT livery), the 345 drag and the Melton Mowbray via Corby 10 car Meridian splitting.
