Yorkshire Dales Country Walk - Kettlewell-Cam Head-Starbotton round
Our video is a guided walk in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales. We start from the village of Kettlewell and walk up Top Mere Road (track) to Cam Head and return on Cam Road (track) down to Starbotton. From Starbotton we follow the Dales Way along side the River Wharfe. This is a moderate walk on good tracks with a long incline from Kettlewell to Cam Head and a long decline into Starbotton. The river part of the walk is flat and mainly grassy tracks. Approx 6 miles allow at least 2½ hours using OS map OL30 Yorkshire Dales, Northern and Central areas (Wensleydale, Swaledale)

Yorkshire Dales Country Walk - Upper Wharfedale - Kettlewell-Arncliffe-Littondale round
Our video is a guided walk in Upper Wharfedale in the North Yorkshire Dales. Starting from the lively village of Kettlewell we make our way up over the top of Middlesmoor Pasture and down to Arncliffe. We then follow the River Skirfare to Hawkswick then make our way back over the top and back to Kettlewell. This is a hard walk at the beginning and the end with steep inclines and declines on good well walked footpaths and tracks. The middle section of the walk following the River Skirfare between Arncliffe and Hawkswick is much easier. Elevation: Lowest Point 205.10 metres (673 feet) Highest Point 482.60 meters (1583 feet). Approx 6.25 miles allow 3 - 4 hours using OS Map OL30 Yorkshire Dales, Northern & Central Areas. Wensleydale, Swaledale. Start Point: Car Park in Kettlewell. For more info please see our website.
Charming Kettlewell
The charm of Kettlewell is an abiding charm, and to those of us whose life is spent amid the hurley-burley of city life, the village seems the peculiar abode of peace and quiet beauty; its limestone terraces, with their fringes of hazel and rowan coppices give to the district a characteristic beauty. But the special glory of Kettlewell is not that of colour, but of line. Situated at the junction of the main valley of the Wharfe with side valley, which descend from the Coverhead Pass, Kettlewell is the converging point of many contour lines, and to the eye which delights in the flow and ripple of sky line there is a beauty in Kettlewell which is all its own.
This was written nearly one hundred years ago by Professor Moorman but is as true today as it was then.

A short drive from the picturesque Yorkshire Dales village of Kettlewell along a narrow lane that winds up the hill to the high point from where Great Whernside can be seen.
Great Whernside (not to be confused with Whernside, one of the Three Peaks!) can be seen on the right towards the end of this video.
