The Fort East Martello Museum is famous for housing weird artifacts in Key West. Robert the Haunted Doll and Tombstone of Elena Hoyos whose decomposed body was partially preserved by a demented man for amorous purposes are kept here. The museum is rarely visited by people during day time, but the haunted tours bring in a lot of night time visitors. It is also listed in the U.S National Register of Historic Places. The view from the East Martello Tower is worth seeing.

The Haunted Club Chameleon - Key West, Florida
To read this story, click here:
Hey guys, here is another haunted building called Club Chameleon right in the middle of downtown Key West, Florida. It has been abandoned for years because the workers will not stay for more than a few days due to eerie mischievous presence in the building. The original building of this property was built in 1863, it was a Baptist church actually, a pastor and his wife were living in the church. The pastor’s wife has an affair with the deacon. In a small town like Key West, people do nothing but talk about each other. So, pretty soon the entire town is talking about this affair. The Pastor gets wind of this, but doesn’t say anything to his wife. Six months go by, and people are surprised that the wife is getting away with this affair. They say, He is a pastor, he forgets and forgives.
Now, one Sunday morning, the wife takes 17 choir Kids inside the church for practice. The pastor barricades the doors, pours kerosene all around and burns it to the ground. Those 17 kids and his wife burned alive inside that building. A year later, they built another church on the property and there has never been a fire since then. In 1990s they converted this into a theater, they used to stage plays. On the very first day, when the play was halfway through, the audience smelled smoke so strongly, they feared for their lives and started running out screaming. There was no fire, however. This happened night after night, and they ran out of business. There has not been a business here since 1990s up until 6 months ago. The problem is entrepreneurs will come down here, trying to start a business. They could not get a construction crew to stay in this building for more than 3 days. All the construction crews had the same thing happen to them. Tools getting thrown around, doors getting slammed behind them. If they stayed in one place too long, their shoe laces will get tied together. Kids can be mischievous, that’s what kids do, play games. A construction worker lit up a cigarette and got shoved so hard, he moved out of Key West. Anyone who lights up a cigarette or candle creating smoke or fire will be punished by these kids. About 6 months ago, a businessman has bought this place and is trying to have fundraisers and wedding receptions here.
Many people, who put their head up the glass, hear tapping, banging or scratching. You might smell smoke, taste sulfur or just feel sad. Sometimes the glass feels really hot, like touching an oven, some people get a tingling sensation. Sensitive people break down in tears at this location, they have no idea why they are crying, but can’t stop until they move away from here.
Let’s hope these poor kids can rest in peace, some day.

The Haunted Saint Paul's Graveyard - Key West, Florida
Read the story here:
Hey guys, this is the Saint Paul’s graveyard in Key West, Florida, considered one of the most haunted places on the island. I am Praveen Mohan and on the other side of the fence is the Saint Paul’s church. This is the very first cemetery in Key West, and it was much larger at that time. There was no fence and the original cemetery covered the parking lot extending up to the nearby houses. Now right beneath, just a few feet below is coral rock, you can’t go too far down.
So if there is not enough depth in the ground, how did they bury them? They would put one body down, and stack the rest of the bodies on top of each other from there and just bury them. Back then, they didn’t know Cement dissolves in sea water, so they were using cement in the graveyard.
Until early 1900s everything went smooth, but in 1928 a massive hurricane called Okeechobee rolls through and the storm surge is over 6 feet at that point. When water recedes, people come out and realized that all these graves had dissolved. The graves were gone, but everything inside those graves was still here. Bodies scattered all over the ground, some wedged up in the trees. Imagine living here and finding your past lost and loved ones wedged up into a tree.
If that’s not horrifying, they also found bones from a much earlier time strewn all over the place. They realized this was a graveyard long before the Europeans ever set foot on this island. The first inhabitants were the Calusa and Seminole tribes who had bloody battles all over this place. The original name of Key West was CayoHueso, which roughly translates into “bone island”. The entire island was once covered in Bones which is confirmed by the very first European Captain Juan Ponce de León who showed up here in 1514.
I don’t have to tell you they stopped using cement, but things changed after that incidence. What used to be a quiet cemetery was no longer that way, especially at night. Locals don’t walk around here in the dark. Quite a few Tourists have seen strange apparitions and dark figures sneak up on them when walking around here. Of course, most of them can’t tell if they are real because they are usually very drunk. People have seen a group of children standing around this angel statue , and if you smoke a cigarette near this cemetery, the children will get upset. To understand why, you need to understand what happened in Club Chameleon.

KEY WEST AND THE CIVIL WAR -Key West Series
Students from Eastview School in Algonquin, IL researched and created a TV show called Good Morning Eastview. On this webcast historical timeframe of 1830's - 1870's are presented. Key West's remote United States location, makes communication challenging in the 1860's. Thus resulting in one of the Civil War's most interesting stories.
