Phetchabun - Khao Kho Memorial
Eigentlich heißt die Anlage Khao Kho Memorial Sacrificial. Sie könnte als großes Freilichtmuseum bezeichnet werden. Vor langer Zeit diente sie als Militärbasis, heute hat sie einen geschichtlichen Hintergrund. Schützengräben und Bunker wurden originalgetreu nachgebildet und sehenswert sind die alten Panzer und Flugzeuge, die geschickt in der wunderschönen Natur platziert wurden.

Phetchabun - Khao Kho/Aussichtspunkt
Von der Lovely Farm fuhren wir zu einem nahe gelegenen Aussichtspunkt. Von dort bietet sich dem Betrachter ein herrliches Panorama über die bewaldeten Hügel und Berge. Ein wunderschönes Naturerlebnis.

Heavenly place to visit || Petchabun Thailand
Petchabun province is a province in North-Central Thailand. It is a six-hour drive from Bangkok. We went there via van and we spent 2 days to enjoy the views and experience the place. This video shows the beautiful historical and relaxing places in this province, namely, KHAO KOH, WAR MUSEUM, WAR MONUMENT, WIND FARM, WAT PRASORNKEAW, and PHU TAB BUEK.

This time I go for the Kanchanapisek Pagoda in Khao Kho. Start is the fort of the 28. Cavalry Squadron at Por Khun Bang Klang Hao and going through the Khao Kho National Park on the 2302. These days the whole area was a huge traffic jam, so I only show the passing of the Pagoda and a short passage on the way back on the 2258 where someone “park” his Pickup upside down. Than back to Lom Sak south of Phetchabun Airport along the Pa Sak River and Nam Phung River to Lom Kao.
KHAO KHO SACRIFICIAL MONUMENT
The Khao Kho Sacrificial Monument was constructed as a monument for civilians, soldiers, and police who lose their lives to protect the border between Phitsanulok, Petchaboon, and Loei from communists from 1968-1982. The monument is a triangular slab of marble that is 24 meters in height, signifying the Buddhist year of 2524 or 1981 when civilians, soldiers, and police held a joint operation to crack down on the communists for good. The interior wall is inscribed with a description of the fight and the names of those who lost their lives.
The Khao Kho wind farm is located on an area of 350 rai and uses GE Thailand Company’s technology. There are a total of 24 windmills that are 110 meters in height. The windmills do not create much noise pollution since each emits less than 50 decibel of noise and can produce 60 megawatts of electricity or 140 million units a year. It has been in operation since May 2016 and apart from generating electricity for the province, it has also brought in tourism revenue.

One of the things to see and do while in Khao Lak Thailand, is to visit the Tsunami Memorial Park of a Police Boat 813, that was washed off to shore During the 2004 Tsunami, during Boxing Day.
Walking around the streets of Khao Lak.

Phetchabun borders on three regions, the North, the Central and the Northeast. The central part of the province is on the Pa Sak river basin with mountain ranges running along both the western and eastern sectors. The rolling peaks of Khao Kho, known as little Switzerland, were once a battle field against communist insurgents. Its beautiful scenery and cool weather attracts many visitors. Si Thep ancient town, preserved as a historical park, has a history of richness and prosperity for more than 1,400 years.

Khao Kho is made up of mountain ranges to northwest of town about 1,174 metres above mean sea level covered in the main by deciduous plants. Very cold during November-February, it once was the base room which communist insurgents conducted their struggles against the authorities during 1968-1982. Today it is accessible via two routes; off Highway No. 12 (Phitsanulok - Lom Sak) at Ban Camp Son with a further distance of 30 kilometres of off highway No. 21 at Ban Na Ngua, about 13 kilometres from town with a further distance of 30 kilometres. Both routes wind through considerably steep terrain. Interesting places include various viewing points, remains of communist bases and buildings, war memorial, arms museum, a Chedi containing Holy Relic and the Si Dit waterfall.
Accommodation at Khao Kho: There is a large number of accommodation to be chosen. Most of them will be in Thung Samo Sub-district and Camp Son, approximately 30 kilometres from the attractions on Khao Kho. The nearest one is the Cavalry Guesthouse at Km. 28 on Highway 2196, 28th Cavalry Division and bungalows for accompanying persons near the Khao Kho Palace and Khao Ya. Moreover, there are many resorts by the route ascending to Khao Kho.

Situated on Highway 2196 of Khaokho District, Petchabun, Kanjanapisek Pagoda is one of the most grand and beautiful monument can be seen from quite a distance.
