Kharkiv is one of the largest cities in Ukraine, and also it’s the regional center of the Kharkiv region. Kharkiv is founded in 1654. The population is about 2 million people.
Kharkiv is located in north-eastern part of Ukraine on the border of two landscape zones - forest-steppe and steppe - near the confluence of the rivers Lopan, Uda, and Kharkiv. Tetyana Tayakina and Valery Kovtun in August Bournonville's ballet miniature Flowers Festival in Jenzano, 1977.
Tetyana Tayakina was a principal dancer with National ballet of Ukraine until 1989.Then for years she was a head of Kiev state ballet school (retired in 2010 in age of 60).
Valery Kovtun was a coach and choreographer for National opera of Ukraine until his death in 2005 (aged 60).
Tetyana and Valery were a family couple as well. Kyryl, son of them is a dancer and coach in Kiev state ballet school.

Тетяна Таякіна буда прима-балериною Національної опери України (до 1989 року). Після цього - директором КДХУ. У 2010 році, у віці 60 років, вийшла на пенсію.
Валерій Ковтун після закінчення сценічної кар'єри викладав та створював нові балетні вистави для Національної опери України. Пішов з життя в 2005 році. У березні 2014 року, до 200-річчя Шевченка в НОУ була поновлена Лілея Валерія Ковтуна.
Тетяна Олексіївна та Валерій Петрович були подружньою парою. Їх син Кирило - танцівник; викладає дуетний танець у КДХУ.
