Time Square, New York City, Manhattan, New York State, United States, North America
Times Square is a major commercial intersection and a neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Times Square iconified as The Crossroads of the World, The Center of the Universe, and the The Great White Way is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. According to Travel + Leisure magazine's October 2011 survey, Times Square is the world's most visited tourist attraction, hosting over 39 million visitors annually. Approximately 300,000 people pass through Times Square daily. Formerly Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in April 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the newly erected Times Building -- now called One Times Square site of the annual ball drop on New Year's Eve. The northern triangle of Times Square is technically Duffy Square, dedicated in 1937 to Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of New York City's Fighting 69th Infantry Regiment; a memorial to Duffy is located there, along with a statue of George M. Cohan, and the TKTS discount theater tickets booth. The stepped red roof of the TKTS booth also provides seating for various events. The Duffy Statue and the square were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The original seats put out for pedestrians were inexpensive multicolored plastic lawn chairs, a source of amusement to many New Yorkers. They lasted from the onset of the plaza transformation until August 14, 2009, when they were ceremoniously bundled together in an installation christened Now You See It, Now You Don't by the artist Jason Peters. Although the plaza had mixed results on traffic in the area, injuries to motorists and pedestrians decreased, fewer pedestrians were walking in the road and the number of pedestrians in Times Square increased. The plastic chairs were shortly replaced by sturdier metal furniture, and on February 11, 2010, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that the pedestrian plazas would become permanent. In February 2011, Times Square became smoke free as New York extended the outdoors smoking ban to the area. The measure fines any person smoking within the area a fee of $50. On May 1, 2010, Times Square was evacuated from 43rd to 46th Street following the discovery of a car bomb. It was found to be a failed bombing. Times Square has been featured countless times in literature, on television, in films -- including the 1980 film Times Square, which featured a punk rock/new wave soundtrack -- in music videos and recently in video games, such as Grand Theft Auto IV, in which a recreation of the Times Square area is included in the game's fictional Liberty City setting, and Battlefield 3, where the final fight with the main antagonist takes place, where the player must stop him from detonating a nuke in the square. Times Square is also portrayed in video game Crysis 2, in which player must fight off attacking alien forces in order to assist US Marines to evacuate the area. An immediately recognizable location, Times Square has been frequently attacked and destroyed in a number of movies, including Knowing, when a solar flare destroys New York City, Deep Impact, when a tsunami created from a meteor impact destroys New York City, Stephen King's The Stand, where the intersection is overcome by total anarchy, the ending of Captain America, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Films have also employed the opposite tactic, depicting the typically bustling area as eerily still, such as in Vanilla Sky, as well as the post-apocalyptic I Am Legend, in which Will Smith and his dog go hunting for deer in the deserted urban canyon. Times Square was also depicted in the 2011 movie, New Year's Eve, and was also seen in the festival battle scene in the 2002 film Spider-Man. Times Square was featured in 2012 when an announcement about the apocalypse from the President of the United States was occurring. It included the area being crowded and NYPD officers.

Are Steep Stadium Seats Dangerous?
More from Inside Edition:
Steep seats are becoming more and more common at arenas across America. They're designed so that spectators in the upper decks are closer to the action with unblocked sightlines, but are they dangerous? Paul McCartney opened to a sellout crowd at Sacramento’s new Golden 1 Center last year. A concert-goer was wheeled out of the arena on opening night after he says a fan fell on top of him. “It just felt very unsafe walking up there,” he said. He's not alone.

Ghetto Brothers
In the early 1970s, an employee of the Youth Services Agency was murdered in the streets of the Bronx. Cornell Benjamin was a former drug addict turned counselor, as well as a high-ranking member of the Ghetto Brothers gang. Having already appeared on local TV channel WNET, the surviving members called a meeting at a Bronx youth club, to be broadcast on an episode of 51st State entitled Ain't Gonna Eat My Mind
The meeting itself was a strange form of theatre, all supervised by YSA Commissioner Ted Gross. Afterwards, a televised debate was held by 51st State journalist Ted Batten, in which the message of community control was expounded as the only solution to the United States' racial tensions. This was in line with the policy agenda of 51st States' underwriter, the Ford Foundation. Having initially been incorporated for the philanthropic whims of the Ford family, the charitable organisation had grown away from them, and towards the Central Intelligence Agency.
In 1966, former National Security Advisor McGeorge Bundy had been appointed President of the Foundation, around the time it had started to promote policies based in ethnic seperatism. Most famous was a program of school decentralization in Brooklyn, which had lead to a strike by the United Federation of Teachers, who were eventually victorious. The Ford Foundation tried again however, using the death of 25-year-old mixed-race Cornell Benjamin to advance their cause of liberal segregation.
The exact strength of the Ghetto Brothers is unclear. Members have subsequently claimed to have numbered in the thousands, with a presence along the East seaboard. At the time of Ain't Gonna Eat My Mind however, the gang only appeared to be able to muster a handful of teenagers, as do other groups featured such as the Black Spades or Savage Nomads. Yet through this exposure, their names were transmitted beyond their immediate surroundings.
The ultimate goal of community control had been to develop an elite in marginalised urban areas that functioned as a part of the existing power structure. By creating a ruling class which benefitted from the existing system, there was a material interest in suppressing movements that genuinely challenged the status quo. Key to this was organised crime, as had been with the assimilation of ethnic groups such as Irish, Jews and Italians decades before.
Historically, a lack of numbers and prejudicial attitudes had prevented the development of sophisticated Black and Hispanic syndicates in Northern cities. During the influx of the post-WWII period, they would have to be created from scratch. This was particularly pressing given the growing social conflict over race, which prioritised the need for reliable authorities.

Six years later, Matisyahu returns to the renowned Austin venue that helped to launch his career with Live at Stubb's Vol. II, a new CD-DVD package that demonstrates the continued originality and increasing depth of this longtime New Yorker's craft.
Inspired by the runaway success of the original record, which spawned the hit single King Without a Crown and has to date sold nearly 700,000 copies in the United States, Matisyahu says he always knew he wanted to make another live album. Performing is such a big part of what I do, he says, and there's a lot about that live energy that you just can't catch in the studio. So for me it was simply a matter of figuring out the right time to do it.

SUMMARY
=======
The City of New York, often called New York City (NYC) or simply New York (NY), is the most populous city in the United States. With an estimated 2017 population of 8,622,698 distributed over a land area of about 302.6 square miles (784 km2), New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States. Located at the southern tip of the state of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, the largest metropolitan area in the world by urban landmass and one of the world's most populous megacities, with an estimated 20,320,876 people in its 2017 Metropolitan Statistical Area and 23,876,155 residents in its Combined Statistical Area. A global power city, New York City has been described uniquely as the cultural, financial, and media capital of the world, and exerts a significant impact upon commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports. The city's fast pace has inspired the term New York minute. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy.Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of the State of New York. The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898. The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world. New York City is home to more than 3.2 million residents born outside the United States, the largest foreign-born population of any city in the world. In 2017, the New York metropolitan area produced a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of US$1.73 trillion. If greater New York City were a sovereign state, it would have the 12th highest GDP in the world.New York City traces its origins to a trading post founded by colonists from the Dutch Republic in 1624 on Lower Manhattan; the post was named New Amsterdam in 1626. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664 and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the Americas by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is a world symbol of the United States and its ideals of liberty and peace. In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship, social tolerance, and environmental sustainability, and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity. Many districts and landmarks in New York City are well known, with the city having three of the world's ten most visited tourist attractions in 2013 and receiving a record 62.8 million tourists in 2017. Several sources have ranked New York the most photographed city in the world. Times Square, iconic as the world's heart and its Crossroads, is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. The names of many of the city's landmarks, skyscrapers, and parks are known around the world. Manhattan's real estate market is among the most expensive in the world. New York is home to the largest ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia, with multiple signature Chinatowns developing across the city. Providing continuous 24/7 service, the New York City Subway is the largest single-operator rapid transit system worldwide, with 472 rail stations. Over 120 colleges and universities are located in New York City, including Columbia University, New York University, and Rockefeller University, which ha ...

everywhere we go, we're the kings and queens, and we run this city
i got prior offensives
you know this life it can be hectic

everybody wants to stay high

The Truth About George Washington
George Washington was unanimously elected as the first president of the United States of America after winning the American Revolutionary War as the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
Washington was first called Father of his Country three years after the beginning of the Revolutionary War – a status he earned not only for his military accomplishments, but also because of the numerous virtues he was perceived to possess as a human being.
But within Washington's impeccable character, one quality stood out the most – a unique immunity to the corrupting effects of power, which stemmed from his selfless nature. I often say of George Washington that he was one of the few in the whole history of the world who was not carried away by power, stated Robert Frost, America's great poet-philosopher.
After overthrowing the tyranny of the British Empire, Americans were unwilling to trust anyone with the power of a central government, yet in George Washington they saw a man who had transcended human fallibility. Had he lived in the days of idolatry, the Pennsylvania Journal noted in 1777, Washington would have been worshipped as a god.
How could such a man ever abuse his power, let alone become a tyrant? Furthermore, if men like Washington exist and can be elected into power, perhaps the United States government would never follow in the footsteps of the hated British Empire.
Does the mortal George Washington live up to his immortal legend? What is the Truth About George Washington?

Walking Tour of Empire State Building New York City
Filmed Using Gopro Hero 8
From Wikipedia:
The Empire State Building is a 102-story[c] Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and completed in 1931. The building has a roof height of 1,250 feet (380 m) and stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2 m) tall, including its antenna. Its name is derived from Empire State, the nickname of New York, which is of unknown origin. The Empire State Building stood as the world's tallest building for nearly 40 years until the construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower in Lower Manhattan in late 1970. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, it was again the tallest building in New York City until it was surpassed by the new One World Trade Center in 2012. As of 2019, the building is the seventh-tallest building in New York City, the sixth-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States, and the 45th-tallest in the world. It is also the sixth-tallest freestanding structure in the Americas.
The site of the Empire State Building, located in Midtown South on the west side of Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets, was originally part of an early 18th-century farm, then became the site of the Waldorf–Astoria Hotel in 1893.[15] In 1929, Empire State Inc. acquired the site and devised plans for a skyscraper there. The design for the Empire State Building was changed fifteen times until it was ensured to be the world's tallest building. Construction started on March 17, 1930, and the building opened thirteen and a half months afterward on May 1, 1931. Despite the publicity surrounding the building's construction, its owners failed to make a profit until the early 1950s.
