Eric Krebs
A key figure in the development of the arts in New Brunswick, Rutgers alumnus Eric Krebs worked parallel careers in academia and professional theater. After running Brecht West, Krebs opened the George Street Playhouse in 1974. Krebs and Jacque Rubel worked with John Heldrich of Johnson & Johnson and Paul Abdalla of the New Brunswick Development Corporation (Devco) in developing the cultural center. The George Street Playhouse moved to Livingston Avenue to the former YMCA building in 1985. Krebs discusses the Crossroads Theater and the State Theater and the growth of the theater district. He also delves into the role of Rutgers in downtown New Brunswick, the local community and the involvement of redevelopment agencies in the arts.

John Lynch
New Brunswick native John A. Lynch, Jr. served as mayor of New Brunswick from 1979 to 1991 and New Jersey State Senator from 1982 to 2002. In the interview, Lynch discusses the coming together of corporate America, academia, government and the public to promote redevelopment in New Brunswick. He credits the vision of Richard Sellars and the commitment of Johnson & Johnson in the process. As for Rutgers, Lynch talks about the establishment of the Mason Gross School downtown and the bookstore in the Ferren Parking Deck and explores how state politics affected the Mason Gross and Bloustein schools. After a change in leadership, Middlesex Hospital evolved into Robert Wood Johnson and impacted New Brunswick in a variety of positive ways. The Hyatt Hotel received an Urban Development Action Grant to finance its construction. Lynch delves into the financing and development of the theater district. Other topics addressed include the Parking Authority, the Route 18 extension, historic preservation, Hiram Market, the Easton Avenue Apartments, payments in lieu of taxes (PILOTs), eminent domain, the Memorial Homes housing project and missed opportunities.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (), commonly referred to as Rutgers University, Rutgers, or RU, is a public research university in New Jersey. It is the largest institution of higher education in New Jersey.
Rutgers was originally chartered as Queen's College on November 10, 1766. It is the eighth-oldest college in the United States and one of the nine colonial colleges chartered before the American Revolution. The college was renamed Rutgers College in 1825 in honor of Colonel Henry Rutgers. For most of its existence, Rutgers was a private liberal arts college but it evolved into a coeducational public research university after being designated The State University of New Jersey by the New Jersey Legislature in laws enacted in 1945 and 1956.Rutgers has three campuses located throughout New Jersey: the original New Brunswick campus in New Brunswick and adjacent Piscataway, the Newark campus, and the Camden campus. The university has additional facilities elsewhere in the state. Instruction is offered by 9,000 faculty members in 175 academic departments to over 45,000 undergraduate students and more than 20,000 graduate and professional students. The university is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Big Ten Academic Alliance, the Association of American Universities and the Universities Research Association. The New Brunswick campus was categorized by Howard and Matthew Green in their book titled The Public Ivies: America's Flagship Public Universities (2001) as a Public Ivy.
