I had a fantastic few days painting in the Tourin Estate, it's a compelling blend of history and nature and an artist's delight. This Knockmealdown Mountain painting is just one of four on exhibition from 9th October.

How to climb Knockmealdown & Galtymore
Knockmealdown (The Higest Mountain in Co. Waterford) & Galtymore (The Highest Mountain in Co. Limerick & Tipperary) can be both climbed in the same day however this is an extremely tough day on the hills.

A day spent in the Knockmealdown Mountains during May and again in April when the Rhododendrons were blooming.
Knockmealdown Mountain Pass - Ireland
A trip over the Knockmealdown Mountain pass which borderes South Tipperary and Waterford Counties in southern Ireland. Streams flow out of the higher reaches of the mountains and sheep wander the slopes and roads. A bee hive shrine is erected at the top of the pass and overlooks Tipperary to the north.

The Knockmealdown Mountains (Irish: Sléibhte Chnoc Mhaoldomhnaigh) is a mountain range located on the border of counties Tipperary and Waterford in Ireland, running east and west between the two counties. The highest peak of the range is Knockmealdown, in County Waterford. On the western side of the summit, the range is crossed by a high pass through which runs the old mail coach road from Lismore to Clogheen.The mountains were formerly known as Sliabh gCua, sometimes anglicized 'Slieve Gua' or 'Slieve Goe'.
