Knott's Berry Farm Full Tour - Buena Park, California,
Knott’s Berry Farm is a 160 acres (65 ha) amusement park in Buena Park, California, United States, owned by Cedar Fair. In 2017, it was the tenth most-visited theme park in North America. Knott's Berry Farm is also the most-visited theme park in the Cedar Fair chain.[3] The park features 35 rides including roller coasters, family rides, children's rides, water rides, and historical rides, and it employs about 10,000 seasonal and full-time employees.[4]
The theme park sits on the site of a former berry farm established by Walter Knott, Cordelia Knott, and their family. Beginning around 1920, the Knott family sold berries, berry preserves, and pies from a roadside stand along State Route 39. In 1934, the Knotts began selling fried chicken dinners in a tea room on the property, and the Knotts built several shops and other attractions to entertain visitors. Cordelia Knott's efforts in the Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant were essential to putting Knott's Berry Farm on the map, and the ensuing crowds prompted the creation of even more tourist attractions. In 1940, Walter Knott began constructing a replica ghost town on the property. Knott added several other attractions over the years, and began charging admission to the attractions in 1968. In 1983, Knott's Berry Farm added Camp Snoopy, which began the park's present-day association with the Peanuts characters.
In the 1990s, following the deaths of Walter and Cordelia Knott, their children sold the theme park to Cedar Fair and the family's food business to ConAgra Foods, which subsequently sold it to J. M. Smucker. Cedar Fair has continued to expand the theme park, adding Knott's Soak City in 1999 and adding new rides to the original park.

Knott’s Berry Farm Review (Buena Park, CA)
Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California was the last park I visited in the state. Built by the Knott family sometime in the 1940's, the park was originally used as a replica ghosttown to entertain guests while they waited for their chicken. After Walter and Cordelia Knott passed, their kids sold the park to Cedar Fair in 1998 where they added new attractions such as Xcelerator and HangTime, while also keeping the GhostTown. As my first Cedar Fair park, I'm really excited for what's to come in the chain.

Knott's Berry Farm Historical Photos Buena Park California
The Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in Orange County, California originated from a berry farm owned by Walter Knott (1889-1981). In the 1920s, Knott and his wife, Cordelia, sold berries, berry preserves and pies from a roadside stand beside State Route 39, near the small town of Buena Park.
In 1932, on a visit to Rudolph Boysen's farm in nearby Anaheim, Walter Knott was introduced to a new hybrid berry of blackberry, red raspberry and loganberry cross-bred by Boysen, who gave Walter his last six wilted berry-hybrid plants. Walter planted and cultivated them, then the family sold the berries at their roadside stand. When people asked what kind they were, he called them Boysenberrys.
In 1934, to make ends meet, Knott's wife Cordelia (1890–1974) reluctantly began serving fried chicken dinners on their wedding china. For dessert, Knott's signature Boysenberry Pie was also served to guests dining in the small tea room. As Southern California developed, Highway 39 became the major north-south connection between Los Angeles County and the beaches of Orange County, and the restaurant's location was a popular stopping point for drivers making the two-hour trip in those days before freeways. Until Interstate 605 and State Route 57 were built in the late 1960s, Highway 39 (now known in Orange County as Beach Boulevard) continued to carry the bulk of the traffic between eastern Los Angeles and Orange County. Great location and good value were the restaurant's conditions of success which attracted long lines of diners.
As time went on, more shops and interactive displays were opened to entertain patrons waiting for a seat at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The Berry Market expanded South from Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant along Grand Ave. with the addition of wishing wells, rock gardens with miniature waterfalls, water wheels and a grindstone Down by the Old Mill Stream, near a replica of George Washington's Mount Vernon fireplace which the Knotts had seen while on vacation and admired it so much that they replicated it behind Jams & Jellies; Lost and Found, Nursery, Preserving Kitchen and Administration Offices. Before long, the Knotts had added Virginia's Gift Shop and several more shops and attractions such as a 15-million-year-old petrified log, a thirteen-foot diameter cross section of coastal redwood cut at age 750 years, a visible bee-hive and an oxcart, with several wagons, provided additional photo opportunities. The entire operation would soon be renamed Knott's Berry Place.
The Ghost Town is the oldest part of today's enclosed Knott's Berry Farm amusement park and includes most of the buildings Walter brought to the property in the 1940s and 1950s.

Knott's Berry Farm Rides 2019. Knott's Berry Farm is home to some of the most fun and thrilling rides in the world. Looming 118 feet over historic Ghost Town, GhostRider is the largest roller coaster in park history and the longest, tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster on the West Coast.
Knotts Berry Farm Silver Bullet inverted coaster sends riders climbing to a height of 146 feet, then soaring back down with an initial drop of 109 feet. Riders will spiral, corkscrew, fly into a cobra roll, and experience overbanked curves. Overall, riders will find themselves upside down six times.

Timber Mountain Log Ride POV Knott's Berry Farm

The Timber Mountain Log Ride orignially opened at Knott's Berry Farm in 1969, remains as one of the most elaborate log flume rides in the U.S. The much anticipated attraction opened on July 11, 1969 with film legend John Wayne taking the inaugural ride.
The $3.5 million attraction was originally funded entirely by its designer Bud Hurlbut who had previously designed Knott's Berry Farm's classic Calico Mine Ride. Hurlbut, a pioneer in the theme park attraction industry, wanted his flume ride to be a completely immersive experience.
The Calico Log Ride, as it was originally named, takes guests through an 85-foot tall mountain range themed to a nineteenth-century lumber camp. The ride, housed in an eight-story building, includes 24,000 gallons of water that circulates free floating logs past a variety of mechanical figures and taxidermied animals culminating in a 38 foot tall drop.
On January 7, 2013 the Log Ride was closed to undergo an extensive revitalization. Knotts worked with Garner Holt Productions to restore classic scenes, upgrade ride figures and sets as well as adding new scenes and characters to enhance the ride experience while still maintaining the original theming and storyline of the attraction. It reopened on May 30, 2013 to critical acclaim.

Knott's Berry Farm Vlog January 2020
Join me as I return to Knott's Berry Farm for the first time since 2015 in this action packed vlog! In 2020 Knott's will celebrate its 100th anniversary and in this vlog I check out all of the major rides at the park along with the various changes since my previous visit. I share my first reactions to HangTime, GhostRider and many other different experiences that I've never done before.
In this vlog I explore Ghost Town along with taking a look inside the various different buildings that make up this immersive wild west themed town. I also take a ride on a traditional stagecoach, step on board the Calico Railroad and much more as I delve into the history of this iconic theme park!
