Koh Tao - Abandoned Resort in Thailand - Laem Thian Resort!
We found a really cool abandoned resort on the island of Koh Tao - thanks to the wandergo app.⠀
⠀
The resort that made this beach its home, closed in 2010. There were 10 bungalows at the small and simple Laem Thian Resort with some of the bungalows having names such as, Dream, Paradise and Seaside. The resort first opened back in 1995. According to stories on the island, after bad storms caused the dirt track access road to the resort fall away, the owner became unable to afford the maintenance costs and Laem Thian Reort was closed.
The hike should take you around 35 minutes to reach the beach resort, however the path leading there is fairly narrow, so make sure you stay on the right one. We ended up going the wrong way - which led to the toughest hikes of our lives! 2.5 hours later we made it!

Massive Beach Clean up on Koh Tao, Thailand! - Get Involved Eco Day's
Eco Marine Conservation in Thailand - Going Further, Working Together and Saving Marine Species on Koh Tao!
Every Month multiple Dive Centres work together to conserve Paradise that we call Koh Tao in Thailand. It is fantastic to see the Dive Industry thriving, especially on Koh Tao in Thailand. But we also understand that more interest in diving means more tourists and more tourists means more stress on the environment.
To reduce the amount of litter entering the ocean and to create awareness, multiple dive centres on Koh Tao joined hands with a monthly event called: Get Involved Eco Day’s.
On Eco Day’s we give conservation lectures and organise a Beach and Reef Clean up. We started with 6 people and now we have an average of 50 people per month and more joining every month, proving that working together will make such a difference!
We also love to work together with organisations like: Trash Hero, Project AWARE, Shark Guardian, the local government and many more..
--------
On this addition we also had Spicy Koh Tao guesthouse and Extreme Gap Year joining us with a total group of 55 people.
This was our Schedule:
10:00 Eco Lectures at Choppers
12:30 Lunch Break
12:30 Beach and Reef Clean up and Coral Watch
15:00 Free Beer at Sairee Cottage Diving Pool Bar
19:00 Free BBQ at Maya Beach Club
22:30 Eco Party at Bar Next 2

Conservation work in Koh Tao, Thailand
This compilation of shots was collected over the last few weeks in Koh Tao while working with New Heaven diving school, PoD, Save Koh Tao and the New Heaven Reef Conservation program.
During that time, we did a multitude of things. We worked on artificial reefs. We conducted EMP surveys. We collected garbage. We hunted drupella and CoTs. And we also built and maintained mooring lines.
For more extensive information, please check out the upcoming blog posts at . If you are interested in volunteering, or helping in any other way, you can do so either through the PoD website( ) or find the above programs on Facebook.

Koh Phangan - Following digital nomads throughout their day
I've been travelling since over 4 years now and I can't imagine to settle anywhere at the moment. I love the nomad lifestyle and it has taught me a lot so far and I'm sure it will teach me even more in future. One of my biggest challenges is to find the right balance of travelling and working. The last few years I normally worked my ass off for a couple of months, so I could afford my travels and when I ran out of money I started working again. All in all it was a great experience but I want that to change and have a better work/travel (life) balance. During my travels I met many so called Digital Nomads who literally just need a laptop and WiFi to do their work, so they travel the world and work at the same time. Two of them are Mark and Melissa who are living the nomads lifestyle since a few months now and I met up with them in Koh Phangan (Thailand) so they could show me how their day look like. Of course not every day looks exactly like that but I made a video for you guys to give you an idea how it can look like. A big thanks to them for an amazing day and you guys enjoy watching it!

THE MOST UNDERRATED PLACE IN THAILAND - KOH SOK NATIONAL PARK
Koh Sok National Park is by far the most underrated and unique destination in Thailand. We slept in huts on the lake, completed a 3-hour hike through a cave where the water went up to our necks, and went site seeing throughout the lake.
#36. WHY you CAN'T miss KHAO SOK National Park | THAILAND 2017 | DJI Mavic
Why is nobody visiting Khao Sok National park in Thailand? A lake with turquoise, clear water. Spectacular rock formations. You have to see for yourself!!

Diving keeps us alive - Showreel Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand
Shot on
Canon EOS 7D - Tamron 17-50 - Ikelite housing
This is a summery of the amazing underwater world Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand has to offer and a showreel of the footage I took during the outstanding underwater videocourse with Aquatic Images Koh Tao. Learn how to capture all these amazing creatures, impressions and moments in picture means a lot to me.
It is the chance to show what is so fascinating, mesmerizing, all-consuming about it. These animals which are not from a world we exist in teach us something in a way I can not explain in words.
So this is the first video of hopefully many more trying to say - this is our passion, my love, my life.
This is why I left home, that is what it's all about!
Thank you Andreas Gutierrez Fiskeseth for being my friend, my buddy, for sharing this passion and all your knowledge with me.
You and your work are inspiring! X

How to do KHAO SOK National Park INDEPENDENTLY
After visiting Samui seeing some friends we decided to go visit Khao Sok National Park before we head to Chiang Mai. It was the best decision we made!!
We took a ferry from Samui to mainland Surat Thani, from here we took a 2 hour mini bus journey to the national park. This ticket cost us 750 bhat (one way) including the bus transfer from hotel to pier in Samui.
The mini bus dropped us at the bus stop just 1.5km from Khao Sok town, a 50 bhat taxi on the back of a pick up took us to our hotel Country Resort.
For £17 a night we stayed in an AC room with free access to their outdoor pool.
The journey to the lake took just over an hour, recommend getting to the lake before the mini buses arrive so around 9am. Just a note that when leaving at 8am or before there is heavy fog/mist along the journey which is cold! So wear long trousers and a jumper in the morning as its a long journey to be cold. But as soon as the sun breaks through it warms up QUICK!
Here are some prices from here onwards:
* Moped hire - 300 per day
* Fuel - 100 (enough to Cheow Lan Lake and back)
* National Park (including lake) entrance fee - 300 per person
* long tail boat hire for 3 hours - 2000
The lake was one of the most beautiful sites we have seen and highly recommend driving yourself to the lake and back. Avoid big tours where your crammed on a mini bus then boat!
In the end hiring our own boat and total day costs including the moped was cheaper than a day tour!
Hope this was helpful and let us know if you choose to visit Cheow Lan.

Freshly laid Saddleback Clownfish eggs, Koh Tao, Thailand.
Clownfish eggs are laid in a roughly circular patch stuck securely to the reef next to or slightly under the host sea anemone. The female lays the eggs and the male fertilizes them afterwards.
The parents continuously aerate the eggs with their mouths and fins to keep them oxygenated and clean as they grow. Any unhealthy eggs are picked off by the parents. The smaller male clownfish tends to do more of the work while the larger female parent defends the nest and her mate.
The eggs hatch in 7 to 10 days. As they develop the eyes become relatively large compared to the body. These eggs are quite mature and the larval clownfish babies probably hatch from the nest that night.
