KORIDOOR TOURS DMZ CAMP BONIFAS AND JSA HIGHLIGHTS
This is from a 1-day tour with Koridoor Tours that included the DMZ and the JSA. I definitely recommend the tour. It took a beautiful ride along the Han River. We first visited the Dorasan Train Station, which is the last stop before the north. Second stop was the Dora Observatory. The third stop was the Third Tunnel of Aggression. The fourth and final stop was Camp Bonifas which then proceeded to the Joint Security Area and the blue buildings.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on YouTube, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown, and any other talented travel vloggers that YouTube’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)
DMZ TOUR FROM SEOUL! The Closest I'll Get To North Korea! | South Korea Vlog
I went on the most popular day tour from Seoul - a tour to the DMZ border to see North Korea!
This was such a good tour. I I booked it through Get Your Guide with I Love Seoul Tours (link below), they picked me up close to my hotel and we drove to Imjinjak Park first, everything you can see from here is South Korea but it’s an important place to visit as it’s the most North people can go without getting government permission and it has memorials to the families that were split during the creation of the 2 Countries.
(THE TOUR I TOOK & RECOMMEND:
We then passed through a security check point and had our passports checked before arriving to Dorasan International Station which was finished in 2002. The line goes from Seoul into North Korea and the railway carries on into China, Russia and then Europe. As it stands only one train leaves from here a day into North Korea.
Dora Observatory is the highlight of the trip, this is where you can see North Korea from and the DMZ. There are telescopes which are free and offer clear views into the Countryside of North Korea. You can also see both Countries flag poles and the propaganda village on the side of North Korea!
We ended our day tour of the DMZ at an infiltration tunnel. There are 4 known tunnels and we went to the 3rd tunnel. After a quick video about the war and the DMZ we got to go inside the tunnel (no camera’s or phones are allowed) which was cool and interesting to see.

The Surreal and Very Real DMZ-Walking Into North Korea (With DMZ Facts/Figures)
My tour of the DMZ was perhaps the most surreal and fascinating part of my month long Asia trip. I took a USO tour through Koridoor Tours to Panmunjom, home of the JSA (Joint Security Area) in the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) at the border of South and North Korea. We were given a briefing by a U.S. military officer who gave us the history of the hostilities between the two countries and warned us not to gesture toward any North Korean soldiers should we see any. We could see the U.N Command soldiers, including some ROK (Republic of Korea) soldiers from South Korea. Some of them put half of their bodies behind the buildings to protect themselves in case they were fired upon from the North. We entered the MAC (Military Armistice Building) Conference Room where the two sides meet when they have talks. In the middle of the room is a conference table-half the table is in South Korea, half in North Korea. Once I passed that halfway point, I was standing in North Korea which I did for about 5 minutes-very surreal. When I got back to my hotel in Seoul, I heard on the radio that North Korea would attack South Korea in a few days and those threats continued for weeks.

Panmunjom + JSA | Korean DMZ Tour | On The Border Between North Korea & South Korea
Vlog #189 In light of the recent escalation in tension between the DPRK and USA I was still able to take a day tour to & around the Korean DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). I was even given a chance to spend a few minutes inside the infamous conference room that sits on the border of North and South Korea.

Joint Security Area(JSA) Tour 2019
We were among one of the first few groups to experience the newly JSA tour, which was halted since October 2018. A lot has changed :(
Even though they are more lenient on what we could take pictures or film, there are a lot less to see.
Tour of the Demilitarized Zone
세계 유일의 관광지 - 외국인들의 DMZ 투어
North Korea is swiftly gaining attention from the world with U.S. President Trump agreeing to hold a summit with Kim Jong-un.
Congruently, more foreign tourists are visiting the Demilitarized Zone, or the DMZ, to get a glimpse of the scars and wounds of the Korean War. Let’s visit the site to learn more about Korean history.
The DMZ tour begins in central Seoul every morning. What compelled these non-Koreans to join this tour?
My expections for this tour are...hopefully to see..to have a good view of North Korea and to learn a little bit more about what life is like for them, and also to learn a little bit more about history of North and South Korea.
The DMZ is a buffer zone established in 1953 when the Armistice Agreement was signed, along the north and south of the Military Demarcation Line, 2km into North Korea and 2km into South Korea.
The first destination is Imjingak Pavilion in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do ( , ) Province, about an hour drive from Seoul. Only 7km from the ceasefire line, it is the railroad disconnection point between South and North Korea.
This place is also dubbed the “hometown for displaced people” due to the close proximity to the North. Here, they perform ancestral rites by bowing toward their hometowns every New Year's Day and Chuseok, Korean Thanksgiving.
Behind the Mangbaedan Memorial Alter is the Bridge of Freedom, which 13,000 South Korean prisoners crossed to return home during the war.
Keeping the bridge here is unbelievable, so that we can hear the story and know what occured here and that we can learn from it, and not resort back to the past of what happened.
North Korea conducted numerous provocations even after the ceasefire in 1953. The four underground tunnels they built for secret forays into the South are prime examples.
The Third Tunnel, in particular, was deemed to be the most threatening as an invasion tool due to its proximity to the capital; only 52km north of Seoul or a 45-minute drive by car.
Spanning over 1,635m in length, 2m in width, and 2m in height, it is estimated that approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel per hour.
It's really nice to experience for this first hand to see exactly what it looks like and to actually see how many times the North try infiltrate into the South, to see the history how close they are to one another.
The next stop is the Dora Observatory at the northernmost point of the Military Demarcation Line where visitors can catch a rare glimpse of North Korea through binoculars. How do foreign visitors feel, seeing North Korea in person? The North Korean flag catches the eye. South Korea also has its giant flag on its side, and they are known to be the tallest flagpoles in the respective countries.
Although the Korean War was suspended 65 years ago, tension and peace still coexist in the area.
Its history is still going on, as a history major it's interesting and fascinating to see. There's no movement you don't see this where we come from.
The last destination is Dorasan Station, the only international station across the nation. It was once a route for freight trains with industrial supplies traveling into the North but now a tourist train running once a day. The station is one of many symbols of Korea's separation, but it also reflects the hopes for a successful reunification. It’s currently the last station toward the north, but it will eventually be the first one on the northern side when the railways are connected.
How did the foreign visitors enjoy the DMZ tour?
It's a very interesting tour, very sad to see separation between two the Koreas when obviously they should be together, wish them the best of luck but I'm not very sure if it's gonna be done in our life time.

DMZ = SOUTH AND NORTH KOREA BORDER.
#DMZ #DEMILITARIZEDZONE #SEOUL #korea
DMZ tour is the most popular tour because it is the only chance for you to go very close to the border between two Koreas. Don’t you want to go inside the infiltration tunnel made by North Korea? Also, you can see North Korean territory through binoculars at the observatory. For those of you who have no idea about what DMZ is and why Korea is divided into North and South, I’ll fill up your brain with lots of information about Korea during the tour program. In addition, I’ll explain about not only Korean history but also some recent issues that are going on in two Koreas. If you make a reservation with our company, DMZ TOURS, I promise that I will make your trip unforgettable with well-organized tour! I can’t wait to take you to DMZ tour and see you enjoying new experience there. Thank you!
The symbol of division as well as the afterimage of Cold War era, Imjingak was created to make the symbol of the peace and unification. The Imjingak park has many statues and monuments regarding the Korean War. Every Korean Thanksgiving Day and the Lunar New Year holiday, North Korean-born South Koreans gather at Imjingak park to perform traditional ancestral rites.
