Koshoji Temple is relatively new by Uji's standards. Originally built in 1233 at a different site in Kyoto, the temple was transferred to Uji in 1648. The temple features a beautiful garden in its open court, with a five storied stone pagoda and carefully pruned trees and bushes.
Koshoji is still a working temple and is famous for its impressive colored leaves in the autumn. The approach up to Koshoji is lined with numerous maple trees that form a tunnel of color around late November.
KAMAKURA - Kencho-ji Zen temple
Kenchō-ji is a Rinzai Zen temple in Kamakura which ranks first among Kamakura's so-called Five Great Zen Temples (the Kamakura Gozan) and is the oldest Zen training monastery in Japan. These temples were at the top of the Five Mountain System, a network of Zen temples started by the Hōjō Regents.
The temple was constructed on the orders of Emperor Go-Fukakusa and completed in 1253, fifth year of the Kenchō era, from which it takes its name.[ It was founded by Rankei Doryū, a Chinese Zen master who moved to Japan in 1246, spending some years in Kyushu and Kyoto before coming to Kamakura.

Japanese Buddhist Temple 大泉寺 - Brushless Gimbal
The location is in Oyamada, not so far from Tokyo - a beautiful temple in a valley. That is my practice ground for my gimbal operation. I found it very hard to film in 4K due to Moare issues and because clear resolution picks up every small mis-operation.

Garyu Sanso Ozu - Ehime - 臥龍山荘 - 4K Ultra HD
What could be describeb as the hidden pearl of Ozu, Garyu Sanso is a subtle yet superb villa located by Ozu’s river and the city’s old town. Built in 1907, and despite its small size, Garyu Sanso is a true masterpiece of both Japanese traditional architecture and design. Indeed, not only did this gorgeous villa take its main inspiration and reference from famous other places such as Katsura Rikyu and Shugakuin Rikyu imperial villas in Kyoto, but it took not less than 9,000 artisans four years to build the masterpiece main building and Chishi-an Tea house mounted on pilotis and giving you a unique view over Ozu’s river.

Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺), formally Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera (音羽山清水寺), is an independent[clarification needed] Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site.[1]
The place is not to be confused with Kiyomizu-dera in Yasugi, Shimane, which is part of the 33-temple route of the Chūgoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage through western Japan, or the Kiyomizu-dera temple associated with the Buddhist priest Nichiren.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple is perhaps the most popular of the temples in Kyoto and is a fixture in the minds of the Japanese people. The temple's veranda juts out of the side of a mountain supported by 13-meter-high wooden columns. The main hall with its distinctive hip-shaped roof of cypress bark rests to the rear of the veranda and houses within it a priceless statue of Kannon Bodhisattva, the goddess of mercy. From the veranda, one can appreciate fine views facing west over the city of Kyoto.
Yasaka-jinja (jinja means shrine) respects Susanoo-no-mikoto, Kushiinadahime-no-mikoto, and Yahashira-no-mikogami.
Susanoo-no-mikoto is a great god in Japanese mythology, known for his defeat of Yamata-no-orochi (a large serpent with eight heads: a symbol of many disasters), redemption of Kushiinadahime-no-mikoto, and produced the ground great-discernment on the earth.

Aaron John Gregory's Epic Solo Japan Journey, 2015
In November 2015, I embarked on a solo trip to Japan for 12 days, spending half of my time in the Kyoto area, and half in Tokyo. It was a bucket-list journey for me. Japan has always held a special place in my heart, and it's been a life-time dream to visit. As a graduation gift (I graduated from art school in Dec, 2014) both from family and to myself, I finally realized that dream. What I can say now having done it, that I can earnestly not wait to go again, and plan to travel there as many times as possible through out my life, and could even see moving my family there someday. In all my travels, no where has affected me like Japan.
This video is 20 minutes of random bits of beauty, absurdity, zen, and chaos. I like fish, a LOT, so there are frequent shots from various aquariums I visited. I like Japanese toys and 80's pop-culture, a LOT, so there are frequent shots of stuff pertaining to Godzilla and Ultraman. But obviously, I love all things Japan, and if you do too, then enjoy my little video.

Kyoto, Japan - Philosopher's Path
Hello!
A video clip from my recent trip to Japan with my sister and partner. We walked this really beautiful trail in Kyoto called the Philosopher's Path, which led you to various temples and shrines along the way. 10/10 would walk again!
