Victoria Peak (Chinese: 太平山, or previously Chinese: 扯旗山) is a mountain in the western half of Hong Kong Island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak. With an elevation of 552 m (1,811 ft), it is the highest mountain on Hong Kong island, ranked 31 in terms of elevation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Tai Mo Shan is the highest point in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with an elevation of 957 m).
The summit is occupied by a radio telecommunications facility and is closed to the public. However, the surrounding area of public parks and high-value residential land is the area that is normally meant by the name The Peak. It is a major tourist attraction that offers views over Central, Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island and the surrounding islands.

PEAK TRAM & SKY TERRACE EXPERIENCE | HONGKONG
According to a study* by The University of Hong Kong, passengers riding on The Peak Tram will experience a spectacular visual illusion; when going uphill, the high rises of the right ride of the tram appear to fall toward The Peak. This Peak Tram illusion is induced by a change of the subjective vertical caused by the tilted visual environment and reclining body position of observers inside the tram. *The study is published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science in 2013.

With some seven million visitors every year, the Peak is a major tourist attraction of Hong Kong.[4] It has views of the city and its waterfront. The viewing deck also has coin-operated telescopes that the visitors can use to enjoy the cityscape. The number of visitors led to the construction of two major leisure and shopping centres, the Peak Tower and the Peak Galleria, situated adjacent to each other.
The Peak Tower incorporates the upper station of the Peak Tram, the funicular railway that brings passengers up from the St. John's Cathedral in Hong Kong's Central district, whilst the Peak Galleria incorporates the bus station used by the Hong Kong public buses and green minibuses on the Peak. The Peak is also accessible by taxi and private car via the circuitous Peak Road, or by walking up the steep Old Peak Road from near the Zoological Botanical Gardens or the Central Green Trail from Hong Kong Park. The nearest MTR station is Central.[5]
Victoria Peak Garden is located on the site of Mountain Lodge, the Governor's old summer residence, and is the closest publicly accessible point to the summit. It can be reached from Victoria Gap by walking up Mount Austin Road, a climb of about 150 metres (490 ft). Another popular walk is the level loop along Lugard and Harlech Roads, giving good views of the entire Hong Kong Harbour and Kowloon, as well as Lantau and Lamma Islands, encircling the summit at the level of the Peak Tower.[6]
There are several restaurants on Victoria Peak, most of which are located in the two shopping centres. However, the Peak Lookout Restaurant, is housed in an older and more traditional building which was originally a spacious house for engineers working on the Peak Tramway. It was rebuilt in 1901 as a stop area for sedan chairs, but was re-opened as a restaurant in 1947.
In addition to being a major tourist attraction for Hong Kong, The Peak is also the summit of Hong Kong's property market. At the peak of The Peak, properties are more expensive than anywhere else in the world. Most of the super-rich in Hong Kong – including Cheung Kong (Holdings) chairman Li Ka-shing and the Kwok brothers of Sun Hung Kai Properties (except, in the case of Thomas, while accommodated at Stanley Prison[7]) – live in detached houses in Island South or The Peak. On 12 January 2014, a Barker Road property sold at over HK$100,000 (US$13,000) per square foot for HK$690 million

“I love going out of my way, beyond what I know, and finding my way back a few extra miles, by another trail, with a compass that argues with the map…nights alone in motels in remote western towns where I know no one and no one I know knows where I am, nights with strange paintings and floral spreads and cable television that furnish a reprieve from my own biography, when in Benjamin’s terms, I have lost myself though I know where I am. Moments when I say to myself as feet or car clear a crest or round a bend, I have never seen this place before. Times when some architectural detail on vista that has escaped me these many years says to me that I never did know where I was, even when I was home.”
Kowloon Peak (through Nan Lian Garden) (Fei Ngo Shan - 飛鵝山)
Duration: (5.5 kilometers) 2.5 hours
Difficulty: 10/10 if on a really hot summer day. 8/10 otherwise because of the bushwhacking and steep steps. 575m elevation gain. You can do it the other way; taking minibus #1 from Choi Hung, getting off at Fei Gno Shan Road and climbing up from the East-side which has stairs, then it would be a 6/10.

Appreciation: 7/10. Nice views of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, but not much different from Lion Rock. However, Nan Lian garden is beautiful and worth spending time at.
Transportation: Start at Diamond Hill MTR station exit C. You can walk back to Choi Hung MTR, or take minibus 1 on Clear Water Bay Road.

In todays video you'll be seeing our day trip to the famous Victorea Peak, also known as Mount Austin. With an elevation of 552 m (1,881 ft), it is the highest hill on Hong Kong island. After our afternoon at the Peak we spent our evening and nighttime at Mong Kok in the area Kowloon. The area is characterised by a mixture of old and new multi-story buildings, with shops and restaurants at street level. Mong Kok is described as the busiest district in the world.

Devil's Peak,is the peak besides,Lei Yue Mun,on,New Kowloon, Hong Kong,.The area around the peak was garrisoned by the British Army or local pirates to control the passage of,Lei Yue Mun, which is an important nautical passage in South China. The remains of a redoubt and batteries are still visible on the peak.

From Your Left take escalator and Follow Sings, Lei Yue Mun Estate,Pass through the,Lei Yue Mun Estate to.Lei Yue Mun Road,Which is not far ahead.it joins the, Ko Chiu road,few steps on ko chiu road then turn right to,Chinese Permanent Cemetery,Along the road, it winds up. Through the several turns, the trail follows Wilson Trail on the left by ascending the short flight of steps. Afterward, head the concrete path to the left gently up. Along the way, a distance view over Yiu Tong, Hong Kong Island and the east of Victoria Harbour could be seen. Further ahead, it traces the right fork up to the ruin of the three of Devil's Peak Fortification. After visiting around there, retrace the way to the main path and then continue on along it to the right.

Kowloon Peak
Kowloon Peak or Fei Ngor Shan or Fei Ngo Shan is a 602 m (1,975 ft) tall mountain in the northeast corner of New Kowloon, Hong Kong, situated in Ma On Shan Country Park. It is crossed by both the Wilson Trail and the MacLehose Trail. On the lower slopes is Gilwell Campsite, belonging to The Scout Association.

First day in Hong Kong, I decided to take the Ding Ding double-deck tram to reach the Peak Tram station. From there I took the famous funicular railway cable car that took me to the upper levels of Hong Kong. The Peak Tram is the steepest funicular railway in the world and the journey takes only seven minutes.
Standing at 428 metres above sea level, there is The Sky Terrace 428 which is the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong. The view was amazing even if it was cloudy and foggy.

'The Avenue of Stars (Chinese: 星光大道), modelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is located along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It honours celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry.[1] In late January 2019, the avenue has been reopen to the public after 3 years of renovation.
The Avenue of Stars is the eastern node of several tourist attractions along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. In addition to the promenade and New World Centre, a number of attractions exist including the Museum of Art, Space Museum, Cultural Centre and the Clock Tower.
Entering from Salisbury Garden, a 4.5-metre-tall replica of the statuette given to winners at the Hong Kong Film Awards greets visitors. Along the 440-metre promenade, the story of Hong Kong's one hundred years of cinematic history is told through inscriptions printed on nine red pillars. Set into the promenade are plaques honouring the celebrities. Some plaques contain hand prints and autographs of the stars set in cement, but most of the plaques only contain celebrities' names as they are now deceased. A 2.5-metre bronze statue of Bruce Lee was erected along the Avenue of Stars in 2005.
The promenade commands a stunning panoramic view across Victoria Harbour. At night it is a popular viewing place for the Symphony of Lights display.
'New World Centre remodeling project
The New World Centre (Chinese: 新世界中心) was retail-hotel-residential-office complex on Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It housed two hotels, two office towers, a shopping complex and serviced apartments. It was reported to be one of the largest commercial complexes in the world at the time.[1] It used to house a Tokyu Department Store. It was located near the Sogo department store and the Hong Kong Space Museum, opposite the MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. It was closed on March 31, 2010 for demolition and a new 63-storey hotel by New World Group is being built on the site with expected opening in 2019.[2]'
'Tsim Sha Tsui (Chinese: 尖沙咀), often abbreviated as TST, is an urban area in southern Kowloon, Hong Kong. The area is administratively part of the Yau Tsim Mong District. Tsim Sha Tsui East is a piece of land reclaimed from the Hung Hom Bay now east of Tsim Sha Tsui.
Geographically, Tsim Sha Tsui is a cape on the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula pointing towards Victoria Harbour, opposite Central. Several villages had been established in this location before Kowloon was ceded to the British Empire in 1860. Tsim Sha Tsui in Chinese means sharp sandspit. It was also known as Heung Po Tau (香埗頭), i.e. a port for exporting incense tree.
Tsim Sha Tsui is a major tourist hub in Hong Kong, with many high-end shops and restaurants that cater to tourists. Many of Hong Kong's museums are located in the area.
Tourist attractions
The Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui is a famous landmark of Hong Kong.
Tsim Sha Tsui was once the terminus of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR). After the British Section of the railway was opened for traffic on 1 October 1910, the construction of the railway station in Tsim Sha Tsui started in 1913. Construction on the railway station and its clock tower were completed in 1915. The main building of the Tsim Sha Tsui station was demolished in 1978. The station was relocated to Hung Hom to make way for the Hong Kong Space Museum and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. But the Clock Tower of the station was not demolished and was kept in place. It is all that remains standing of the station. The clock tower is forty-four metres high, surmounted by a seven-metre-high (23 ft) lightning rod. It is now surrounded by the public piazza of the Cultural Centre and has become a landmark of Hong Kong. Six pillars of the railway were relocated to the Urban Council Centenary Garden in TST East. The Avenue of Stars starts at the New World Centre shopping centre near the Cultural Centre.
The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront is another popular destination for locals and tourists alike. It is especially popular for photographers, as it offers an unobstructed view of the Central area of Hong Kong across Victoria Harbour. The Star Ferry terminal is another popular attraction for tourists, and the Avenue of Stars is also popular with photographers.'
