Japan 1962: around Yokohama and Kamakura 横浜鎌倉
From an amateur film taken in 1962. The camerawork is clumsy, yet these images may be of interest to those who know the present surroundings. Does anyone recognize them? May be the children seen have become old (wo)men after fifty years.

2015.10.30 Yokohama(横浜), Japan (日本)
On to the next day of the Kanto (関東) area tour! After our crazy hike on Mount Mitake (御岳山), we're on our way to the celeb filled town of Yokohama (横浜)! Admittedly, because we went during rush hour, there was a bit of confusion getting there. Make sure once you are on the train you don't get off unless it is your exit.
Being flexible, we just cut the beginning things that we planned to do, and started at the Yokohama Marine Tower (横浜マリンタワー). The views are amazing from up there, and like Tokyo Tower (東京タワー), you can view the ground through a little glass box at the top of the tower. From the tower, it is a short walk to Motomachi (元町). This area is a rich/top end little shopping area. It's not a required to walk through, but easy to see on your way from the tower to Chinatown (横浜中華街). Make sure to try the food here! The dumplings are decicious.
After finishing lunch in Chinatown, we took a long walk over to the pier. Walking along the ocean to the Red Brick Warehouse (赤レンガ倉庫). Decent shopping choices inside, but if you are coming here, it is to eat. Things here are amazing! We're just there for a quick walk through on our way to the Cupnoodles Museum (カッパヌードルミュージアム). This museum is worth every penny, and you can even make your own personalized instant ramen! Also, leaving the museum, across the street is an awesome amusement park, Cosmo World (コスモワールド).
Now, this next part is somewhat special. The Smart Illumination Show is only on during the Fall/Autumn season. So you are only able to see it during that time. It is quite amazing, and although the GoPro did a great job capturing the scene, the low light capabilities are no match for other cameras. It is a must see in person!
Lastly, we went to the Ramen Museum (ラーメン博物館) for dinner! This place is awesome. I wish they didn't charge to enter, but it is a nice place. The reason for the wish, is because they still charge you for the ramen that you try on the inside. That being said, you can try a ton of different types of ramen when you are there, and it is highly recommended for you ramen lovers!

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Yokohama (Japanese: 横浜, Hepburn: Yokohama, pronounced [jokohama] (listen)) is the second largest city in Japan by population, and the most populous municipality of Japan. It is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area.
Yokohama developed rapidly as Japan's prominent port city following the end of Japan's relative isolation in the mid-19th century, and is today one of its major ports along with Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Hakata, Tokyo, and Chiba.
