Never make your home in a place.
Make a home for yourself inside your own head.
You'll find what you need to furnish it -
memory, friends you can trust, love of learning,

That way it will go with you wherever you journey.

KRABI ISLAND HOPPING THAILAND | Private Long Tail Boat Tour
With their crystal clear waters and powder white sands, the Krabi Island's are becoming ever increasingly popular with tourists.
Over-tourism however, can really take the charm out of a new destination and after seeing so many well angled Instagram pictures showing people who seemingly have the place to themselves, tourists are left disappointed by the hoards of other tourist squashed onto the same tiny island trying to enjoy it's beauty amongst the bodies.
That is why although we are 2 of those many tourists that want to catch a glimpse of these famous islands, we decided to book a private long tail boat tour for as early as possible (just after sunrise) to take us to explore the famous Krabi Islands ourselves.
Would the 2000 BHT and early morning wake up call be worth our efforts? Or can you never truly escape the popular chaos that is beautiful Thailand.

INEXPENSIVE 4 Island Tour - Ao Nang, Thailand
Today, we see 4 of Ao Nang, Thailand's main tourist islands. We managed to get picked up, boat to 4 separate islands (Phra Nang Beach, Koh Tub, Chicken Island and Koh Poda), have lunch and get dropped off back at our condo for $18!
We had wanted to do another day trip in Ao Nang since there was such good options and the 4 island tour didnt disappoint. Nothing like just waiting for pick up and then being toured around with all transportation arranged and lunch for a change instead of planning everything out ourselves. Plenty of sun to be had and I was quite surprised Chicken Island actually did decently resemble a chicken from the side view of the long tail boat.
Ao Nang (which is near Krabi) was a great little town with some of the friendliest people we had run into. The boardwalk along the ocean front was kept clean and had a good variety of stalls, restaurants, larger franchises for those interested as well as some delicious street foods. After the four island tour we enjoyed our last moments soaking it all in before packing up the bags and getting ready for the next big stop on our Thailand travels, Koh Lanta.
We had a bus scheduled to pick us up at a larger hotel chain down the road for 10:00am so we arrived early at 9:30. At about 10:30 and plenty of worrying about what was happening another couple had showed up to the spot as well. We asked them if they were waiting for pickup as well and they were, but for a 11:00 bus! That gave us a bit of relief at least knowing that someone else should have pick up on the way and then we could sort out where our 10:00 ride was. So we waited it out with them and sure enough, the 11:00 bus arrived. After speaking with the driver it turns out they lumped us on that bus instead without emailing or notifying us! So we we're a little annoyed not getting a heads up that they had changed our pick up time but more relieved that we actually had a ride to get to our hotel in Koh Lanta at least, instead of having to change room plans for the night.
After a little drive we got to a ferry and boarded it with the van to get to the other side. After a brief ferry ride we had arrived on Koh Lanta. We originally thought we would have to boat from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta but after finding the bus option had chosen that one as it worked out much easier for transporting our luggage and having a ride right to our hotel.
Koh Lanta's main area involves a little Saladan Pier area where all the ferries for transportation and excursions come and go, and then a decent quality road that travels across the whole island with little hotels, family restaurants etc down the road getting less common the farther inland you got. We had booked ourselves a little hotel within walking distance of the main Saladan Pier but also far enough away to not be in the hustle and bustle and also able to get to one of the nicer beach accesses. The hotel turned out to not be our favorite in terms of quality, or a big battle I had to get into with 2 wasps chilling in our room upon arrival with a little mud nest in the bathroom, but I prevailed. And we were set up to enjoy Koh Lanta.
In the next video we finally rent a scooter in Thailand and get some open road exploring in. The simple one main road system in Koh Lanta and being able to rent a scooter directly through the hotel made it worth it. We go to Koh Lanta National Park at the southern tip of the island which has a beautiful cliff top view with an old light house, a stunning beach and plenty of awesome scenery, so stay tuned for the Koh Lanta exploration continuation Wednesday!
Thanks for tuning in everybody, we'd appreciate those likes down below if you enjoyed the content of course and would love to welcome any newcomers to our sub team so definitely subscribe if new as well!
Until next time friends!

Golden Hour: The best sunset spots in Krabi
Ao Nang Beach. While Ao Nang Beach does not rank as one of our favourite beaches in Krabi, the sunset here is pretty magical..
The more quiet beach, this is a good place for walking, chilling and BBQ. In the middle on the beach, have a small resto/bar this the best place to see the sunset.
