Hiking Krantzkloof Nature Reserve
The Krantzkloof Nature Reserve lies between the residential suburbs of Kloof, Waterfall and Emolweni. It is the jewel in the crown of this region of KwaZulu-Natal and is famous for its incredible views over the Nkutu and Molweni rivers, as well as the undulating countryside that extends all the way to the coast.
Rugged cliffs fall dramatically into a steep gorge below, and there are waterfalls around every corner!
There is so to see and do in the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve that Jill and I decided to try and do as much as we could in one day. It turned out to be a really long day that lasted from sunrise to sunset. But what an epic day it was. We hiked 3 of the main trails in the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve including the Uve Road view sights, Nkutu Falls and a section of the Yellow Trail up to Kloof Falls.
The Krantzkloof Nature Reserve is right up there among our favourite hiking spots in South Africa and definitely a spot we planning on seeing more of.

Izandla Ziyagezana Part 7
In June 2011, facilitators from the Narrative Foundation and the University of KwaZulu-Natal worked with women involved in care giving who came from Uthando Lomama and the Community Caregivers in KwaNgcolosi and together we create these series of seven videos. KwaNgcolosi is situated about 40ks outside Durban, in South Africa. We made the video to give you feedback on what we found from our research project. The project was initiated in 2007 as a collaboration between Oslo University, Norway and the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa and titled: The role of Social Capital in promoting community based care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It looked at Ubuntu (values around human relations) in relation to care and support for those suffering from HIV and AIDS. The research took place over four years and in its time gave as many people as possible a voice around care and support in relation to HIV and AIDS. We did not only want to produce a report but we also wanted to show you what the findings revealed and to stimulate a conversation about those findings. To make this possible we created six dramatized scenes that represent the main findings of the study. The purpose of the scenes is to encouraging dialogue between community, organisations, and government about the way forward regarding strengthening care and support around HIV and Aids.

Pinetown is a town just inland from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Pinetown is situated 16 km west of Durban at an elevation of 1,000 to 1,300 feet.
