Kyrenia, is a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbour and castle. It is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus.
Kyrenia Castle at the east end of the old harbour is a spectacular site. The castle dates back to Byzantine times and has served the Byzantines, Crusaders, Venetians, Ottomans, and British. Within its walls there is a 12th-century chapel containing reused late Roman capitols, and a shipwreck museum. Huge round towers that the Venetians built in 1540 occupy the corners. These strengthened the castle against artillery.

00:00-00:31 Good afternoon, dear friends. Today is Sunday. We decided to hangout on the coast of Kyrenia. So now we will go through the pass from Famagusta in the direction of Girne. We have gone through the pass, and this is the mountain Besh Barmag and a few cozy little booths on the right side from the beach Alagadi.
00:32-01:02 Literally just 20 more minutes and we will arrive. On average the trip from the suburb Famagusta to the center of Kyrenia is about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half, depending on the amount of traffic jams in the center of the city. 01:03-01:38 We have finally made it to Kyrenia, look at this harbor we have here! Well, it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get here. Today there wasn't any traffic jams, today is Sunday, and today there are clear roads. Look, now we are going to have lunch in one of the cafes. I will tell you about the restaurant and, wow, it is really pretty here.
01:39-01:57 This historical part of the city is very beautiful with its old buildings, these homes are more than 400 years old. They have all been restored and refurbished into small, cozy restaurants. It is very beautiful here at night to sit on these terraces and admire the harbor.
01:58-02:31 I wanted to film the tourist yachts for you, but apparently, they have all gone off to sail around today. We will be returning after lunch and maybe I'll be able to show you them, it's worth it to ride on one at least once. It is very entertaining and interesting, and you will see Kyrenia and Famagusta from the side of the sea. We are waiting for our order right now, and just in time, the tourist ship I was telling you about.
02:32-03:01 Now we are going to eat and if the ship comes into port then I will film it for you. They are big and very beautiful and just cruising along the bank. They have different time durations for their cruises from 4 to 7 hours, it is really pretty, I will try to film it later after lunch. This is, of course, a very tasty Sunday lunch.
03:02-03:28 Bon Appetit to us. (Man speaking: one of my favorite soups once was…) They pretty much don't make that soup here. Actually, I'm basically not hungry now. (Waitress: would like some more of that?) No, thank you, that's enough.
03:29-04:01 We had lunch and now we are going to go walk along the harbor and I will show you the port. It is actually very small, but pretty cozy. There are a lot of taxis always here if you suddenly come to go walk around so you can get back without a problem. Simply order a taxi, look they are sitting here. So, you can come and hang out and go back home, no matter where you live.
04:02-04:38 But walking around here is definitely worth it, I would advise all of you to go walk along the sea. The best of all would be to come a bit earlier. There are stands for boat trips and they organize group and individual trips. There are different prices depending on the number of people and the amount of space on the ship. We sometime in 2015, probably, spent a weekend just riding on one of these yachts.
04:39-05:04 Oh, look now I will show you one of the yachts, or ships, I'm not sure what to call them but that is how they look. As a general rule, lunch and a few stops at really beautiful bays to swim is included in the price of your trip. Ten to fifteen people can probably fit on one.
05:05-05:35 Well, this is fun of course, it's such an entertaining program. Actually, they renovated the harbor not long ago and redid the asphalt, earlier there was old tiles here.
05:36-06:03 Right now, it seems to me that it has become a lot better. The mountains, of course, are very beautiful. So, we have eaten lunch, we aren't hungry, and we thought we could eat a portion of Turkish dondurma ice cream (or marash.) Therefore, we are going back to the bank to get ourselves some ice cream.
06:04-06:33 As always, chocolate and melon, bon Appetit to us. We actually lucked out to buy this because we wanted to eat Turkish ice cream marash, but the booth is closed. Apparently, it is hot outside, yes, it is 4 o'clock right now. So, we just got this regular ice cream. And now we are going to the parking lot to our car and then to the beach.

Kyrenia / Girne, Northern Cyprus harbour walking tour 4k 60fps
Kyrenia is a cultural and economical centre, described as the tourism capital of Northern Cyprus. It is home to numerous hotels, nightlife and a port. It hosts an annual culture and arts festival with hundreds of participating artists and performers and is home to three universities with a student population around 14,000.
The old port of Kyrenia is the first on any tourist itinary. Filled with history and character, this place ours style. The many eateries are set out around a crescent of sail boats of all types.
