Why grab a bite in a cookie-cutter restaurant when you can take a cruise on land at our historic San Gabriel landmark, Clearman's Galley?
The Boat was originally launched in 1913 as a mail-service vessel between San Francisco and Alaska. John Clearman brought it to San Gabriel in 1968, where it became a hamburger stand with patio seating.
Now, 40 years after serving its first hamburger, Clearman's Galley is now open -- a larger version of The Boat that seats almost 300 guests (and that patio is larger too, big enough for 90). And there's a new full-service bar serving up to two dozen beers.
More big-screen HD TVs make for sports-night entertainment and a fun, family-friendly dining experience. If you love classic boats, great food, or championship sports, come aboard the new Clearman's Galley for a rousing good time.
Come on in -- your table is waiting!

Sports Bar in LA - Los Angeles Brewing Company
Excerpts of a column written in the Los Angeles Times by Todd Martens, May 11, 2012. Sports Bar in LA
Entrepreneur Ralph Verdugo has moved on from the club scene to open a dog-friendly place with 100 taps and a relatively well-priced menu.
Entrepreneur Ralph Verdugo once ran downtown L.A.'s Club 740, but he left that world after having a revelation. Or maybe just a few pints.
With the economy, people don't like going to clubs so much, Verdugo said.
The 41-year-old has embraced his inner beer geek and just opened Los Angeles Brewing Co. ( in the Chapman Building between 7th and 8th streets on Broadway. The place boasts 100 taps, a gated patio for dogs, and a menu with all but one item under $20.
People ask if we're a high-end restaurant, a sports bar or a gastro-pub. Why can't I be all three? asked Verdugo.
His tap list mixes craft options with well-known brands, but it will trend more toward specialty soon. Firestone Walker will be showcased next week, and Verdugo plans to host home brewer meetings. Also, join the beer club and get an engraved mug after 50 pints.
We'll be making this more of a craft house and catering more toward the locals, he said. The residents are telling us what they like.

Dry River Brewing Co. in Boyle Heights | Los Angeles, CA
hoppedla.com
At Dry River Brewing Co., #SlowBeer is the name of the game. What does that mean? Well, these sour and wild ales are fermented in used oak barrels, allowing the wild yeast, experimental botanicals, and hop varietals enough time to go to work.
We hung with brewmaster/owner Naga Reshi, the Dry River team, and members of the LA beer community as they opened up their intimate tasting room and invited us in to drink their delicious beers.

Brewery Hopping | Miramar - San Diego, Ca
My brother came down for his birthday weekend and on Sunday we spent the afternoon at Miramar doing a little brewery tour with his friend Brett & Brett’s friend, Mike, the Master brewer at Little Miss Brewing.
Definitely opened up my eyes knowing how many micro breweries there really are in San Diego. I only know if just a few, but I’m totes glad we were able to experience this mini tour. From Setting Sun to Align Brewing, they are all located in the same parking lot. They’re all literally next door to each other. Very convent and very dangerous for craft beer conisours
***side note/ If you’re wondering, i bet Erick in darts :)

LA BEER HOP BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
My amazing wife surprised me with this one! I had no clue why all of my good friends showed up at my house, but then I saw the bus lol This was not only fun, but educational! It was truly an appreciation tour, I've been doing it all wrong all these years, and drinking shitty beer! We toured Stone in Pasadena, Brewyard in Glendale, and finished at Golden Road Brewing in Glendale as well! What an experience with amazing company! I have the most awesome wife ever! LA Brew Buds Talkin' Beer: Interview with a Craft Beer Fan at LA's Naja's Place, Redondo Beach, CA
Tom Kehn is a self-professed aficionado of West Coast beer. He's not a brewer, not even a homebrew club member. And in a way, that's what makes him so interesting. He is simply a well-informed fan. He likes the craft beer scene--especially the one in Southern California--and that in a nutshell is his motivating factor for being at Naja's Place during LA Beer Week when xoxoHomegrown caught up with him.
Much of what he has to say may be obvious to others in the scene here, but to outsiders his words will provide a schooling as to what's happenin'. A text to our tasting.
After telling the camera a bit about himself and the beers he likes, Tom takes the mic and interviews Phil Thomas, the West Coast Sales Rep for Clown Shoes Beer. It's 2 beer buds talkin' beer. Comparing Heady Topper to Second Fiddle to Pliny! And as an added extra, we get to hear all about the Massachusetts brewer Clown Shoes' upcoming special offerings.

#EventsOnTap Ep. 64: Transplants Brewing Co. in Palmdale, Ca. | Drinking Craft Beer in LA
In this week's episode, we finally headed out to Palmdale to check out Transplants Brewing and we were not disappointed. Such a cool taproom filled with unique artwork, and an event space/music venue that they are continuing to put the finishing touches on. AND THE BEER! Dank IPAs and interesting beers with crazy ingredients. There's something for everybody here, so head out to Palmdale and give them a visit.
Gary and Mack round up the best craft beer events in Los Angeles for the week of December 24, 2018, and why you should go to them.
Thanks for tuning in!
