San Sebastián de La Gomera is a town (the main port and capital) and a municipality on La Gomera in the Canary Islands, Spain. The area is 114.47 km².
The port serves ferry routes to the islands of Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro. Streets include Calle Real and F. Olsen. A bus station named Estación de Guaguas is used for bus lines throughout the island; it is located on Avenida Quinta Centenario.
San Sebastián de La Gomera (popularmente llamada La Villa) es un municipio español perteneciente a la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Es la capital de la isla de La Gomera (Canarias). En este municipio se encuentra la ermita de la Virgen de Guadalupe (Patrona de La Gomera).
El término está situado al este de la isla y tiene una extensión de 114,47 km².
La villa, a una altitud de 5 metros sobre el nivel del mar, cuenta con un puerto comercial, por el que pasó Cristóbal Colón en sus viajes al continente americano. El lugar donde se alojó, la Casa de Colón, es ahora un museo.
En ella también se encuentra La Torre del Conde que fue construida entre los años 1447 y 1450 por el Conde de La Gomera. Durante una rebelión de los nativos de la isla fue lugar de refugio para los castellanos. También destaca en San Sebastián la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción y la Ermita de San Sebastián.
La economía en el pasado ha estado basada en la agricultura, pero en los últimos años ha cobrado importancia el sector servicios.
