Lake Sammamish is a freshwater lake 8 miles (13 km) east of Seattle in King County, Washington, United States. The lake is 7 miles (11 km) long and 1.5 miles (2 km) wide, with a maximum depth of 105 feet (32 m) and a surface area of 8 sq mi (21 km2).[1] It lies east of Lake Washington and west of the Sammamish Plateau, and stretches from Issaquah in the south to Redmond in the north. At Issaquah it is fed by Issaquah Creek, and at Redmond it drains to Lake Washington via the Sammamish River.
The 98 sq mi (250 km2) Lake Sammamish watershed stretches from Redmond through Bellevue, and Issaquah to Preston and Hobart, and consists of numerous creeks which flow into the lake. Issaquah Creek is the largest tributary, furnishing 70% of the lake's inflow.

The video begins on I-5 (Southbound) just north of I-90. The first 18 km (11 miles) of I-90 (Eastbound) is equipped with Active Traffic Management, with gantries spaced usually every 800 m. However there are no gantries on the floating bridge across Lake Washington.

Film from the King County Sheriff's Office closed investigation files [Ted Bundy case] (circa 1977)

These home-movies were included among evidence collected after the abduction of two women, Denise Marie Naslund and Janice Anne Ott, from Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah, Washington, on July 14, 1974. The remains of both women were later found two miles east along a service road. The first film is of the Rainier Brewery company picnic, which took place around when the two women were abducted.
The second and third films were apparently shot after the police arrived. Bundy drove a beige Volkswagen Beetle, such as seen in the second film. At Lake Sammamish, Bundy had approached five witnesses who later spoke to the police. He was reported to have had his arm in a sling and to have asked them for help with his sailboat. In the third film, we see a man whose arm is in a cast. The film frames showing the Volkswagen Beetle and the frames showing the man with the arm cast were flagged by the King County Sheriff's Office using thread tied through the film sprockets.
Ted Bundy confessed to murdering 30 women from 1974 to 1978, 11 of them in Washington State. He remains a suspect for over a dozen unsolved cases.

1984 was the first year the national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was celebrated. That same year, in a 5-4 vote, the King County Council adopted a measure, co-sponsored by Democrat Ron Sims and Republican Bruce Laing, to change the County’s namesake from slaveholder Rufus DeVane King to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Although the namesake was formally changed, few people remembered this over the years, as the King County logo remained the imperial crown. In 1999, citizen activists and County Councilmember Larry Gossett initiated a campaign to change the logo to represent Dr. King. After all, the City of Seattle and Washington State’s logos were both images of their namesakes, Chief Sealth, and George Washington. The campaign argued that King County should honor Dr. King similarly, and that a Martin Luther King, Jr., logo would better represent the aspirations and values of the County than the imperial crown. The logo honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was finally adopted in 2006. This clip shows Reverend Samuel B. McKinney, of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, testifying at a committee hearing on the proposed logo change.

Lake Tapps is a reservoir in Pierce County, Washington. It was created in 1911 by Puget Sound Energy and operated for hydroelectric power until it ceased power production in 2004. In December 2009 PSE sold the reservoir to the Cascade Water Alliance, a municipal corporation whose members are five King County cities (Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Redmond, and Tukwila) and two water and sewer districts (Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District, and the Skyway Water and Sewer District). Cascade provides drinking water to more than 350,000 residents and more than 20,000 businesses. It plans to eventually use Lake Tapps as a municipal water supply source for customers of its members.
Cascade has signed an agreement with the Lake Tapps homeowners that guarantees full recreational reservoir levels throughout the summer. It has also signed an agreement with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and the Puyallup Tribe of Indians to ensure instream flows for fish. Cascade worked with the four cities that surround the reservoir, Auburn, Bonney Lake, Buckley and Sumner, to ensure their future water needs will be met for about 50 years. Cascade is the operator of Lake Tapps. Key elements of these agreements were incorporated into state water rights issued to Cascade in 2010.
Lake Tapps is about 4.5 square miles (12 km2) in surface area and has about 45 miles (72 km) of shoreline. The local terrain is such that the shape of the shoreline is very complex, with many inlets, peninsulas, and islands. Before the reservoir was created there were several smaller lakes, including one called Lake Tapps. The reservoir is held in place by a series of dikes. The reservoir is also known to hold many fish including carp, smallmouth bass, perch, and tiger musky.
A diversion dam on the White River, near Buckley, routes water into a flume which empties into the east side of Lake Tapps. On the west side of the reservoir, water had originally been routed to the Dieringer Powerhouse to generate hydroelectricity, after which the water was returned to the White River, about 20 miles (32 km) downstream from the diversion dam. Although there is no longer power generation, the water is still diverted and returned to the river through the former hydropower infrastructure.
The level of the reservoir is lowered from about October to April to allow important upkeep and maintenance to be done, as well as an occasional major capital project. The winter lowering of the reservoir levels also ensures the safety of dikes from wind, waves and storms.
At the diversion structure on the White River the US Army Corps of Engineers is undertaking a project to replace the 100 plus year old barrier and 70 plus year old fish trap and haul facility. this project will allow the Corps to move endangered salmon and bull trout, as well as other species, above its Mud Mountain Dam facility. The project began in mid-2018 and is expected to be completed in 2023.
Lake Tapps is often considered a city or census-designated place in its own right, and it does have its own zip code -- 98391. However, the majority of the area surrounding the reservoir is in unincorporated Pierce County, Washington; the rest is part of the city of Bonney Lake. At the northern edge of Lake Tapps is Auburn.[1]
