The bay of Lakki the largest on the island of Leros, one of the most natural harbors in the Mediterranean. Because of its geographic position and nature, it was used during the Second World War as the principal naval station of the Italians. Lakki is the main port, and ships arrive here from Piraeus and other islands of Leros. Lakki has a unique architecture that was designed by the Italians during the 30 years of occupation. All roads are big and covered by eucalyptus and pine trees. There are many beaches here, ideal for swimming and diving.

Minoan Lines ferry El Greco bumping into quai at Skiathos (Greece) (summer 1996)
Video8 recording from the summer of 1996 showing Greek ferry El Greco, built in 1972 and in service for Minoan Lines from 1979 till 2002, bumping into the quai (1:40) while landing at Skiathos island (Aegean Sea, Greece).
After steering in the opposite direction the already moored ship heavily tugged both ropes which as a result got under dangerous tension (2:05 and 2:20).
