EXQUISITE LANGKAWI BATIK FOR CODY WALKER
LANGKAWI, Oct 20 -- Hollywood actor Cody Walker’s recent two-day visit to the tourist island has introduced him to the Langkawi’s exquisite batik craft.
Cody, the younger brother of late actor Paul Walker who was famous for his role in the Fast & Furious franchise, had bought a piece of batik featuring buffaloes, animals that were found aplenty around the island.
Langkawi Craft Complex promotion officer Nik Azreen Nik Ului said Walker who visited the duty free island from Oct 16-17, had bought a batik painting produced by Rosli Hasan from the Mellie Batik to take home as a souvenir.
“We also took him to explore the complex which serves as a local craft centre of locally-produced handicraft such as batik as well as other weaving products, wood carving, metal and ceramics.
“During his one hour visit, Walker was also involved in batik painting activity and witnessed how honey was produced,” he said.
Nik Azreen said although the the visit was brief, but through Walker’s sharing on his Facebook and Instagram accounts, it was hoped that it would bring the Langkawi Craft Complex to the world.
Walker was in the country to attend the Drive4Paul charity motoring programme.

Locally know as Kompleks Kraf, this is the cultural craft complex of Langkawi that showcases and sells exquisite handicraft and artwork from Malaysian craftsmen and artists. The craft complex was set up in the year 1966 over 12 hectares of land area. It's so popular that it now draws about 90,000 visitors every year.

» ISLAND HOPPING JET SKI TOUR
This is one of the best attractions in Langkawi. OMG!! We had so much fun!! First we had some safety instruction and also practiced riding the jet ski on the shallow water. Then from Pantai Cenang beach we left for four hours tour around Langkawi. So many beautiful islets, clear sea and amazing rock formations. We got really close to some bizarre rocks, breathtaking!
» SNORKELING AT PULAU PAYAR MARINE PARK
The best spot for snorkeling and dive is the Pulau Payar island that is also a Marine Park.
» KILIM KARST GEOFOREST PARK
The Geoforest Park is stunning, you get together two amazing natural attractions of Langkawi: the river and the forest!

» SKYCAB AND SKYBRIDGE
This is the best view-point in the entire island. The cable car in Langkawi has two stops with a privileged view, and the trip to the top is really smooth. You go up to 950 meters above the sea level and you feel like floating in the air! When you are on the top of the mountain walk to the Skybridge and be delighted by the view from the both sides of the island!
» PARASAILING
This is one of the coolest things to do in Langkawi! Seriously, I thought it would be a nice to fly with a parachute but I didn’t expect it would be so amazing, safe and fun!
Our parasailing adventure took off from Tanjung Rhu beach. We flew with Naam Adventure and it was a superb experience.
