What a day! This was one of our fav Malaysia travel vlog days to date - Langkawi is proving to be an amazing place to visit! The skycab and skybridge were both worth the ticket price for sure.
The Skycab is the enormous cable car that takes you hundreds of metres above sea level, with views over Langkawi, Malaysia and apparently to Thailand as well it was definitely worth the ticket price of 55 RM per person.
To walk the Skybridge is actually a seperate ticket all together, for another 15 RM we took the elevator thing down the the skywalk and got even more views over the other side of Langkawi.
We kind of feel like if you're going to take the Skycab to the top you may as well grab the extra ticket and do the Skybridge as well. Surprisingly some people didn't, which seems like a shame given the effort to travel up there in the first place, how unique the bridge design is and how good the views across Malaysia and Langkawi are. Each to their own.
Either way, we loved our time exploring Langkawi today and we're thankful for those of you that recommended we visit both the Skycab and Skybridge - thanks!

We took the Sky Cab up Machincang Mountain to get to the Sky Bridge. The Cable Car ride was pretty scary for me as I'm a little afraid of heights. The ride up the mountain takes about 15 minutes. The views were incredible.
The Sky Bridge was so high up the mountain. There were little glass areas where you could stand on and look through to the ground below. Too scary for me. Amazing experience though and something you should check out if you're in Langkawi.
Langkawi Sky Bridge in Malaysia
The Langkawi Sky Bridge is located at the 'end' of the Cable Car ride. One of the island's highlights, it is a 410ft-long curved pedestrian bridge above Mount Mat Cinchang. It may sound like a cliché but it is really true -- the views from here are simply stunning.
Located 2,300ft above sea level, the Sky Bridge is easily accessible by the Langkawi Cable Car. The journey to the top starts out at the Oriental Village in the upper northwest of Langkawi Island, near Pantai Kok.
The views on the way to the top of Langkawi's second-highest peak include those of the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls and the rainforest. After travelling a few hundred feet upwards, the cable car levels outs and stops at the Sky Bridge, the final station. Those with a fear of heights might be a little afraid of the altitude, but it is a very safe bridge with double steel railings and an enclosed wire mesh. The 1.8m wide bridge has two triangular platforms that act as 'stops' where you can admire the view and rest your feet.

Langkawi Skybridge & Skycab: Best and Scariest Views of Langkawi!
The Langkawi Skycab is the steepest cable car in the world and is actually kind of terrifying. After going all the way up, we went into the Langkawi Skybridge which is the tallest curved suspension bridge suspended by a single pylon. I'm terrified of heights and this was quite the experience! The views from the Langkawi Skybridge are absolutely incredible though! If you are in Langkawi, you cannot miss it! It's definitely the best island in Malaysia!

If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. A Must See in Langkawi - Cable Car & Sky Bridge
Today we decided to do something besides lounge around on the beach.
We got a quick (and very cheap) Grab taxi ride to Panorama Langkawi, where there is a lot more than just a cable car (something we didn’t realise until getting there).
Here you can find:
- SkyCab: the world’s steepest cable car
- SkyBridge: the world’s longest curved suspension bridge
- SkyRex: an indoor 4D ride
- SkyDome: an indoor roller coaster ride (with a twist)
- 3D Art Museum: where you can become part of the artwork
We just wanted to go on the cable car but after being told we had to buy the combo deal which included all of the above we made the most of the added ‘freebies’…..and we’re glad to say it turned out to be a very fun day!
At the top of the cable car you have panoramic views of Langkawi and the surrounding islands, we were lucky enough to have a clear day so we could see quite far. You’re very high up and in the middle of the jungle, so watch out for low flying birds and playful monkeys!
Afterwards we walked a bit up the main road to Seven Wells Waterfall. It was 638 steps up the mountain to get to the top but once there we were awarded with a beautiful natural waterfall and swimming pool - the perfect way to end a hot day!

We said goodbye to our jobs, sold all our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!

Sky Cab - Panorama LangKawi , The steepest cable car ride
Hovering over jungle and climbing over 550 million years old rock, SkyCab gives you more than one unique experience.
Be informed, SkyCab is located at the oldest part of South East Asia and the first to emerge from the ancient sea and estuary! That’s something to give a goose bump if you can get the gist. Come and experience it yourself.
The Base Station is conveniently located at the foothill of the Machincang mountain. From here, visitors will be taken up to the cool Machincang mountain via the cable car system.
The ride will be an exhilarating experience for everyone to enjoy. You will also be able to catch a glimpse of the flora and fauna that surrounds the area.
An intermediate cable car station on the eastern ridges provides the much desired access to the eastern cliffs with its 3 vertical chimneys and the beautiful 360-degree views. The journey from the Base Station to Middle Station will cover 1,700 meters in distance and upon reaching the Middle Station at an elevation of 650m above sea level, visitors will be able to alight and walk up to the viewing platforms. Visitors will enjoy panoramic view of the main island as well as the many surrounding islands. Visitors also be able to observe at a close range the unique flora on the ridges and the forested valley between the Middle Station and the Top Station.
A short walk up the stairs from the Top Station at an elevation of 708m above sea level and that will take visitors to the two viewing platforms at the top of Machincang mountain.
Visitors will be amazed at the unfolding dramatic views from the platforms, the most unique and exciting features of Machincang, are dominating rock tower peaks providing spectacular 360 degrees panoramic views of the Langkawi islands and Southern Thailand as well as dramatic views of the deep chasms, overhangs cliff walls and isolated pinnacles.
Such nature monuments are seldom seen anywhere else in this combination except in Langkawi.
