Lanyon Quoit
Lanyon Quoit is a Dolmen or Quoit between Madron and Morvah. The dolmen is Neolithic but collapsed in 1815 but was re-erected in 1824. Lanyon Quoit looks very different now to how it looked when it was first built.
Not far from Lanyon Quoit is West Lanyon Quoit, another dolmen/quoit that collapsed but was never re-erected.
Lanyon Quoit is now owned by the National Trust and is one of the most visited, photographed and famous quoits in Britain.

This video is of Lanyon Quoit in the small hamlet of Lanyon, near Madron, near Penzance, Cornwall, UK. The Quoit might be the most photographed Quoit in Cornwall. It never use to look like this but it fell down and put up like this. If you want to see how the Quoit would have looked you should go to Zennor Quoit of Mulfa Quoit. There is also West Lanyon Quoit which is about half a mile away.

Lanyon Quoit currently has three support stones which stand to a height of 1.5 metres. These bear a capstone which is 5.5 metres long, and which weighs more than 12 tonnes. (Wikipedia)

It is a wonder this dolmen has stood for all these years, with cows using it as a scratching post! Lanyon Quoit is a dolmen in Cornwall, England. It has three upright stones supporting a large capstone. It collapsed in 1815 and was re-erected in 1824.
