Laugardalslaug Thermal Pool
Laugardalslaug thermal pool has a 50-meter pool, hot pots, Jacuzzi, thermal steam bath, sun lamps, and an 86-meter-long water slide for people of all ages! The pool is tightly connected to Laugar Spa & fitness center, so you can work out at Laugar and then relax in the outdoor pool afterwards.
This facility is situated in Laugardalur valley, the center for athletics and recreation in Reykjavík.

Thermal pools of Iceland is like the pubs of Britain. So if you want to meet locals then this is the perfect place to go. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area averages 37C-44C.
We took Reykjavik City Card for 3 days which gave us access to all thermal pools, but we only tried 2 thermal pools, one which is the famous and closest to our guesthouse (Laugardalslaug Pool)and the 2nd one which is my favourite (Árbæjarlaug Pool) because of its construction and its hot tubs.

Stærsta verkefni Bókmenntaborgarinnar á Lestrarhátíð 2016 var samstarf við sjö skáld og sjö myndlistamenn um gerð vegglistaverka sem sett voru upp í október víðsvegar um borgina.

Vatn streymir, gufar upp og því rignir. Vatn er alltaf á hreyfingu og sú hreyfing varð fyrir okkur að innblæstri fyrir því hvernig texti og mynd gætu átt saman. Kveikjan að verkinu voru þvottaleiðbeiningar í sundklefum sem eins og verkið fjalla um samband fólks við vatn.

Iceland: HOT RIVER Reykjadalur near Hveragerthi

There is a beautiful valley, Reykjadalur valley, in the vicinity of Hveragerði town, only ca 45 km away from Reykjavík, Iceland's capital city, where I live.
The name of the valley, Reykjadalur, means Steam Valley and you will understand why when the valley opens up after the hike. The valley is filled with hot springs and mud pools and there is even a hot river in which one can bathe!
The Reykjadalur valley is part of the Hengill area, but Mt. Hengill is an extinct volcano, which was active 120,000 years ago.
When we last visited Reykjadalur there were 123 cars on the parking lot so we got a little bit startled! Would it be crowded in the valley and impossible to find a good spot in the river?
espite the myriad of cars off we went anyway as the weather forecast had said it would be sunny and still, so we knew it would be a good day to bathe in the warm river. It was overcast when we started the hike, but as I dipped into the warm river the sun came out.
he hike is 3 km long and will take ca 45-60 minutes one way with plenty of photo stops.
On the first part of the trail there are several hot springs and mud pools to the left. And a borehole called Drottningarhola or Queen's borehole.
Be careful where you step here though when you leave the trail and visit the hot pools. Everything is boiling here, so there is no bathing in these pools, they are extremely hot!
