About 11 miles off the coast of Placencia Village, Laughing Bird Caye National Park is one of the most popular island destinations for adventurers that want to see the vast array of wildlife in the Caribbean Sea. Once the breeding grounds of the Laughing Gull, the Caribbean’s seagull, Laughing Bird Caye is a long, narrow island residing on an elongated ridge of reef known as a faro, also called a shelf atoll, and is popular for its abundance of fish, coral, birds, string rays, sharks and more.

We were fortunate enough to experience the amazing turquoise water at Laughing Bird Caye on a really nice day. While it was a long and painful trip to get out to this island, about forty minutes, the experience when we got there made it worth it.

In this Episode I visit Laughing Bird Caye, I went with 3 boat loads of my family and friends, to this rare treasure.
The Island is a world preservation site, so visitors are limited to a small number of people daily and by the end of the day only my family and I remained, leaving the Caye all to ourselves, making this a once in a life time family moment with my daughters and the rest of our family.
