Avi Resort & Casino is a hotel and casino located near the southern tip of Nevada on the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada next to Fort Mohave, Arizona. Within walking distance of the California and Arizona borders, it is owned by the Fort Mojave Tribe and operated under an agreement with the state of Nevada. It has a 465-room hotel, a 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2) casino and a 260-space RV park with internet access.
The casino opened on February 17, 1995 and was built at cost of $60 million. It is one of two Nevada tribe owned Indian casinos located in Nevada, the other being the much-smaller Moapa Tribal Casino.

This weekend, we found ourselves on a Colorado River tour in the area of Laughlin City, NV. The two main features: the Davis Dam and the Casinos! Vid timeline and info links:

First Person 2017: Estelle Laughlin
Through the First Person program, Holocaust survivors have the opportunity to share their remarkable personal stories of hope, tragedy, and survival with thousands of visitors at the Museum. This program was recorded on July 12, 2017. It features Estelle Laughlin, who was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1929. Estelle was in the Warsaw ghetto during the the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. She survived the camps Majdanek, Skarzysko, and Czestochowa.

Vivaaaaa Las Vegas!!!! De la Laughlin am pornit-o prin desertul Nevada spre Las Vegas. Nu puteam sa ajungem prin zona si sa nu ne oprim putin si la Hoover Dam. Construit intre anii 1931-1936 Hoover Dam este o minune a tehnologiei din perioada marii depresii din SUA. La construirea acestui baraj au murit peste 100 de muncitori. Structura este impresionanta iar prin centrul sau trece granita dintre statele Arizona si Nevada asa ca la un moment dat poti sta cu un picior intr-un stat si cu celalalt in altul. De la baraj am pornit pe autostrada cu 3 pe sens care duce spre Las Vegas. Foarte interesant este ca pe drumul spre vegas se afla o mega ferma de celule fotovoltaice. Ajunsi la Vegas ne-am cazat pentru seara aceasta la hotelul Stratosphere pt ca voiam sa sar din turn:) Cu o inaltime de aproape 300m, Stratosphere Tower este cea mai inalta cladire din Las Vegas. Zis si facut. M-am echipat si am sarit :) Caderea in gol este cam de 10 secunde dar senzatiile traite sunt de neuitat. Dupa ce ne-am relaxat putin la piscina exerioara de la etajul 28 am luat-o usor prin oras pana pe Freemont Street sau vechiul Downtown. Pe drum plin de capele si sex shop-uri in caz ca aveai nevoie ori sa te insori ori sa... sa nu. Am gasit si celebrul Pawn Shop folosit in emisiunea Pown Stars de pe History dar tin sa va dezamagesc ca nu este ca la televizor. Chum sau Corey nu sunt pe acolo iar majoritatea obiectelor expuse sunt ori inele ori bratari. Pe Freemont street lume multa, concerte in aer liber, dezmatz cu femei despuiete, casinoui si magazine la tot pasul ce e drept cu preturi mai bune decat in alte orase. Artisti de toate felurile isi explun arta, canta, danseaza, fac magii sau scamatorii spre deliciul turistilor. Atmosfera vesela ma dus cu gandul la o statiune de la mare numai ca fara apa. Muzica anilor 80 rasuna cam peste tot in special cea rock, pop-rock sau country, lumea canta si danseaza pe strazi. Am ajuns unde trebuie. Dupa ce ne-am intors la hotel am mai castigat 60$ la casino la un joc cu niste tauri care atunci cand se nimereau sa apara 3 pe ecran se aprindeau beculetele si te umplea de bani. Numai bine ca ne-am scos banii de mancare :) Maine ne mutam la alt hotel sa mai vedem ce e si prin alte parti ale orasului.
Thousands on Colorado River for Annual River Regatta, Laughlin, Navada - Unravel Travel TV
LAUGHLIN, Nevada. The tranquil waters of the Colorado River transformed into a scene from the old west at the ninth annual Round-Up River Regatta on Saturday, Aug. 8 2015. Embracing the theme, thousands of attendees donned their swimwear and grabbed their inner tubes to soak up the sun, beat the heat and enjoy an extraordinary journey down nine miles of pristine river waters.
Beginning at 7 a.m., water enthusiasts launched floats from Davis Park and Community Park. By the final raft launch time at 1 p.m., approximately 30,000 floaters had taken to the waters to enjoy the journey.
Throughout the voyage, upbeat music provided by houses along the river and local radio stations added to the party. Houses along the water also embraced the old west theme and decorated for their chance to win the Most Spirited House contest.
Individuals and teams also inspired by the theme decorated their floats, rafts and inner tubes for a chance to win an array of prizes. The most impressive and creative floats were spotted at Davis Camp for judging before taking to the waters. Official judges admired the spirited floats and named cash prize winners for Best Decorated, Best Theme, Most Spirited, Best Commercial Float and the ultimate Grand Prize. Floats entered in the contest were required to be supported by a base of floats, were not allowed to have motors and had to be launch their floating journey from Davis Camp. While floats of more than 10 are usually prohibited, trailered floats entered in the contest were required to have personal water craft to assist in navigation (such as a paddle or oar).
After the nine-mile journey, water enthusiasts exited the river at Rotary Park and were already anticipating next year’s milestone celebration of the River Regatta.
The weekend’s festivities kicked off with pre-float parties offered by Laughlin Resorts and concluded with an awards ceremony and post-float parties.
