9 Most Popular Japanese Celebrities You Should Know (eng sub)
Japan’s film production is ranked No.3 worldwide, behind only the United States and India. Its film industry is also ranked No.3, behind the U.S. and China. Japan has been known as the 3rd largest film-producing nation in the world. Japan’s film industry began in 1986, since then it has begun making domestic films. Its film industry has a very long history...
The 22nd Busan International Film Festival saw the most number of Japanese film stars attending. It is indeed a fruitful year for Japanese films. Popular actors such as Suda Masaki, Kora Kengo, and celebrated director Kawase Naomi attended the festival, attracting much attention from fans.
Immediately after the Busan festival, Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) was held for the 30th year. Celebrities from home and abroad made an appearance: Aoi Yu—voted as the “muse” of Japanese cinema, Miyazaki Aoi, Ando Sakura, Mitsushima Hikari, Hollywood actor Tommy Lee Jones (as a panelist), Chinese actress Zhao Wei, top actor Abe Hiroshi, and film festival ambassador Hashimoto Kana attended the festival, making this a star-studded event.
During the festivals, Hallyu World’s host, Hyesoo, got to interview many superstars in the industry.
interviews:
Suda Masaki
Kora Kengo
Aoi Yu
Miyazaki Aoi
Ando Sakura
Mitsushima Hikari
Abe Hiroshi
Hashimoto Kana
Kawase Naomi
One of the most sought-after actors currently in Japan, an icon representing youth in their 20s-- Suda Masak
Known as “the kind of beauty that comes once every 1000 years”, Hashimoto Kanna is dubbed by Japanese media as a “millennium idol”. Fans actually flew to Tokyo so they could meet Hashimoto Kanna!
Kawase Naomi enjoys international recognition for her work “Suzaku”, which won her the “Best New Director” award at the Cannes Film Festival, the youngest director to win this honor. She’s appeared on red carpets all around the world, enjoying even more glamour than film stars.
When asked about her perspective on beauty, the director stated that in her opinion “beauty comes in different kinds. For example, someone with inner strength will naturally exude beauty on his/her outer appearance. As a human being, when you lack resolve in your heart, your posture would lack uprightness. It’s better to speak your mind frankly and directly.”
Top-grade actor Kora Kengo, known as a “concept actor” brings more attention to the film “Side Job”, which is the story of a young woman who lost a loved one in the nuclear reactor meltdowns in Fukushima., especially since last year he went to Kumamoto, an affected region, as a volunteer. He shared in the interview “Of all the information we’ve gotten, we have to know what to choose. To remember what happened, we must voice our concerns and take actions”.

HOT Tokyo Landmarks Appeared in Films (eng sub) [Hyesoo In JAPAN]
Shibuya Crossing has become one of Tokyo’s landmarks, appearing often in films and music videos. Remember the scenes adrenaline-pumped racing scene through the heart of Tokyo in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” and Scarlett Johansson moving through a busy Tokyo crowd in Sofia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation” as well as Taki and Mitsuha at a Shibuya Starbucks in Makoto Shinkai’s “Kimi no Na wa”.
They all had a scene filmed at the famous Shibuya Crossing. Shibuya Crossing is the busiest intersection in the world, with sometimes as many as 3,000 people crossing simultaneously. With huge crowds coming and going in all directions, scenes shot here are indeed very memorable.
As you drive out of Tokyo, you’ll see a very big park known as Koganei Park.
In the park is the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum where you’ll find restored buildings that were either destroyed in wars or by natural disasters. A walk in the park feels like being teleported back to Edo-era Japan.
The reason for us to visit this place is to see the “Kodakara-yu”, where the grandmaster of Japanese anime, Hayao Miyazaki got his inspiration for the bathhouse scenes in “Spirited Away”. It is said that Hayao Miyazaki came here to sketch the scenes he’d later use for his film, especially the bell-shaped roof of the entrance hall, it resembles a similar two-story building in the anime.
You could also see things like the yellow tramcar produced in 1962 here. If you take a leisurely walk among historic buildings, everything reminds you of scenes you've seen in films.
In Japanese films, scenes where young people pay visits to shrines or attend celebrations wearing traditional yukata are a must-have. Kimonos are almost impossible to put on by yourself, nevertheless, everybody in Japan puts on their kimonos to celebrate holidays.
Hyesoo toured Asakusa on a rickshaw while dressed in a kimono.

8K - Mount Fuji - Yamanashi - 富士山
Mount Fuji or Fujisan in Japanese does not need any introduction and I will not spend time here to talk about this famous and gorgeous sacred mountain. No however today’s video mark what 2020 will be all about on TokyoStreetView and the possible changes that may come.
We have been publishing videos about Japan and will continue to do so, for the past 5 years now, however, starting next year we would like to not only up our games with more 6K or 8K Videos shot with a Cinema Camera and Cine Lenses when possible or with equivalent Photo lenses. But we will also try to work on some short documentaries about some of Japan's most interesting aspects of life.
So here it is, today’s video will hopefully mark the beginning of a new era as well as being 2019 last video, indeed I will take a break until mid-January of 2020 in order to spend some quality time with my beloved family. Thank you for watching all along this past year and we are looking forward to seeing you again next year with some new content!

Walking around Tsukiji Outer Market - Tokyo - 築地場外市場 - 4K Ultra HD
Tsukiji is not only famous for its fish market and auction site, but also for its outer market and its many restaurants. Here you can roam the streets of the outer market without worrying about being run over by one of many Tsukiji carts and being sure you won’t bother anyone working. Granted the outer market is less sexy than the actual market, but it is none the less part of Tsukiji and as such we owed this place a little visit, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the crowd!

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
D.K. (Brian Tee) chases Han (Sung Kang) and Sean (Lucas Black) through crowded Tokyo streets.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Better Luck Tomorrow director Justin Lin picks up where John Singleton left off to offer a high-octane look at the world of underground Japanese drift-racing in the latest installment of the super-charged Fast and the Furious film series. A frustrated teen from a broken home, Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) is an outsider looking to make a name for himself on the illegal street racing circuit. When Sean is busted by the police for his high-speed exploits and given the option of either spending time behind bars or moving overseas to live with his no-nonsense, military man father who's currently stationed in Tokyo, the young rebel packs his bags and sets his sights on Nippon. Though at first reluctant to adapt to the unfamiliar customs and foreign code of honor of his new home, Sean soon strikes up a friendship with American speed freak Twinkie (Bow Wow), a like-minded race fan who schools the inexperienced newcomer in the pulse-pounding world of drift-racing. Inadvertently challenging local champion and yakuza associate D.K. (The Drift King) his first time on the road, Sean is subsequently forced to work under expatriate Han (Sung Kang) to pay off his debt after failing to cross the finish line first. Taking note of the young American's affinity for racing as he warmly welcomes him into his merry band of misfit drift-fanatics, Han slowly introduces Sean to the key principles of the popular new racing style. When Sean makes the potentially deadly mistake of falling for D.K.'s girlfriend Neela (Nathalie Kelley), he'll need all the help he can get to face his most challenging race to date and take on the most notorious driver on the Tokyo drift scene in a hair-raising, hairpin-turn race where the winner truly takes all.

Iwami Ginzan Village - Shimane - 石見銀山
Iwami Ginzan Village who’s official name is Omori Town, is located in the Oda mountain of Shimane, a beautiful mountain village famous for its silver. While most silver in the surrounding mines have been extracted, Iwami Ginzan Village is still thriving thanks to its many temples and of course its silver mine museum which has been a world heritage site since 2007.
