Leeds Central Library
Leeds Central Library is located on The Headrow in Leeds City Centre.
It was built between 1878 and 1884 and is a Grade 2 listed building.
It was opened on 17th April 1884, with the adjoining Art Gallery extension being opened on 3rd October 1888.
The building is constructed of local Yorkshire stone, and the roof is made of Westmoreland slate. The entrance steps are made of Shap granite as are the external columns. The foyer pillars are Devonshire marble whilst the carved areas in the stairwell are made of limestone from Caen in Normandy, France. The windowsills are made of Devonian marble as are the seats in the stairways.
The stone stairways have a polished and moulded marble hand rail with stone dogs carved into them at the top and bottom.
The floor is mosaic.
This clip gives only a very short taster of the real beauty of the building and its construction and materials used.

Leeds is a city in West Yorkshire, England. Leeds has one of the most diverse economies of all the UK's main employment centres and has seen the fastest rate of private-sector jobs growth of any UK city. It also has the highest ratio of private to public sector jobs of all the UK's Core Cities, with 77% of its workforce working in the private sector. Leeds has the third-largest jobs total by local authority area, with 480,000 in employment and self-employment at the beginning of 2015. Leeds is ranked as a gamma world city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. Leeds is the cultural, financial and commercial heart of the West Yorkshire Urban Area. Leeds is served by four universities, and has the fourth largest student population in the country and the country's fourth largest urban economy. Today, Leeds has become the largest legal and financial centre outside London with the financial and insurance services industry worth £13 billion to the city's economy. The finance and business service sector account for 38% of total output with more than 30 national and international banks located in the city, including an office of the Bank of England. Leeds is also the UK's third-largest manufacturing centre with around 1,800 firms and 39,000 employees.
FR:

Five Years In Leeds - 4K Timelapse Film
'Five Years In Leeds' is a passion project of Chris Chapman, which he started in 2013 when he moved to Leeds for work, and decided to combine learning how to become a Timelapse Artist, alongside exploring a new city.
His work is influenced from various examples of timelapse, but was mostly inspired by the work of Tom Lowe's film 'Timescapes', and the opening sequence of Netflix series 'House of Cards'. Chris' timelapse film was shot over the course of five years, during which his other timelapse work has been featured numerous times on ITV's Emmerdale.
Chris has written an extensive blog on how to shoot timelapses yourself, detailing his process from start to finish; and including the mistakes, processes and techniques he's used. This blog post can be viewed on his website -
The footage featured in the film will soon be available to purchase at the various stock websites: Pond5, Shutterstock, Videoblocks and Adobe Stock.
