(Hickory Hills CG) From Indianola, Iowa head 14 miles south on US
Hwy 69. From Osceola, IA go 15 miles north on US HWY 69.
(Otter Creek CG) 4.5 miles NNW of Liberty Center, Iowa From Liberty Center go 2 miles north on US HWY 65. Turn west on Roosevelt St for about 1 mile. Turn North on 150th Ave for 1 mile. Finally turn left on Quebec St for .6 miles. Note: Roosevelt St., 150th Ave, & Quebec St. are gravel roads.
(Grant Nature Park) From Carlisle, IA go SE on Hwy 5 for about 9 miles turn south on Erbe St, a gravel road, for about .7 of a mile.

Lewis and Clark Trail: Cave and Iowan Treasure
Went on a hike with some friends in the Loess Hills by Council Bluffs on the Lewis and Clark Trail! On our hike we were told by a friend there was a little cave in the woods so we spent the day looking for it and stumbled upon a makeshift shelter where we found some Iowan Treasure stored away.

Lewis and Clark is one of the best / more difficult trails in the Omaha area. Easily my favorite, easily the toughest ~4 miles of all the trails.
I removed the 20 minutes of climbing and tried to get the best parts of the trail. I missed a couple of the best drops because they snuck up on me before starting the shot.
This was my first 90+ day ride for the year and it was killing me so some parts I didn't string together well but was a blast. If you are looking for a lot of fun and some challenge, this is where it's at!

Sometimes a trip doesn't go exactly as you planned. You might have to make the best of a not so great situation. And that's okay!
In this episode we traveled to Lake of the Three Fires near Bedford, Iowa. We contended with a lake full of algae and a boil order for the campgrounds water supply. It threw a curve ball in our plans for sure! But, we made the best of it and found a beautiful lake nearby to go play in!

Sergeant Floyd Monument in Sergeant Bluff Iowa
A video about Sergeant Floyd, and his memorial in Woodbury County Iowa.. Sergeant Floyd was the only member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition to die. He died in Iowa, shortly before the team crossed into the Dakotas. Monument is one of the oldest monuments in the United States.

Hidden Treasure in The Loess Hills of Council Bluffs, Iowa!
The Loess Hills are a formation of wind-deposited loess soil in the westernmost part of the U.S states of Iowa and Missouri. Living in Omaha, Nebraska this has got to be some of the most beautiful hiking trails around. We hiked right around 6 miles and found a natural cave with amazing spring water running out of it and a bush shelter with secret treasure inside. If you're from this area please go out and check it out!
