Geoduck, Halibut & Pheasant: Shenzhen's seafood street at LeYuan Lu/乐园路 near Dongmen/东门
This street is crowded all night long with people craving for seafood. If you LOVE seafood than this is the place to go in Shenzhen. They have any form of seafood you can imagine and even more! Geoduck (elephant trunk clam), scallops, mussels, pigeons
pheasant, lobster, .....! So take your time and have a look around at all the fresh seafood swimming around in tanks before choosing where to dine. For the fresh seafood is mostly no menu available. You simply point and tell them what you want, how many you want and how you want it cooked.
How to go there:
Take metro line 2 (Shekou line, orange) to Hubei station/湖贝站, Exit B, and walk less than 3 minutes or take line 1 and 3 (Luobao line, green and Longgang line, light blue) to Laojie station/老街站. From there it is more complicated to walk there (~15 min) as Dongmen is a maze of tunnels, alleys, and narrow crowded streets. So better hop on a taxi if you are lost (13-15 RMB) and show the taxi driver 乐园路!

China Love Seafood
Showing you around a rather unique seafood restaurant here in Shenzhen, China. I've never seen anything remotely similar to this in the UK or anywhere before. The way they display the live seafood to allow you to choose and then inventively transport it to the kitchen is fascinating.
When you walked in you are first greeted at the front desk, followed by being assigned to a waiter or waitress to show you around the array of live fish allowing you to tell them what you would like to eat. So you eat is as fresh as it can possibly be! They proceed to take the chosen fish out of the tank using a net, weigh them (as all of the prices are done by weight of each fish), bag them up and put them onto a hook above which acts as a conveyor belt feeding straight to the kitchen. There is a large area of glass where you are able to see chefs that are cooking your food. A little while later, you are eating the fresh, delicious seafood! If you get the chance to come to Shenzhen, I recommend coming to Huaqiangbei and trying it out!

It seems that there is nothing what you can't buy at this market, for sure mostly alive. A sheer variety of animals including cobras, crocodile, groundhog, bamboo rat and seafood. Going in there wasn't an easy decision, but I had to see it!
