In this vlog, my family and I visit the Great Wall of China (长城) and climbed the steep steps that were built so many years ago, taking in the beautiful scenery around us.
We stop at 3 of the 13 Ming Dynasty Tombs ( 明十三陵), the only ones available for tourists. The first location, Sacred Way/Shen Lu (神道), has beautiful human and animal stone statues along a quiet path with overhanging willow trees that serve as the entrance to the tombs. The second tomb, Changling (长陵), has magnificent architecture of the emperors home. Unfortunately, I forgot to film the inside of the third tomb, Dingling (定陵), which was all underground.
I tried so many delicious Beijing delicacies like Peking Duck the night we flew in and then went to an amazing Hot Pot Restaurant on Wangfujing Street (王府井), one of the most popular shopping plazas in China.

China Trip 2019-2020 Beijing and Shanghai | Vlog
Hello everybody! I've finally finished the vlog, took me a whole week to edit this monster of a trip XP. This trip was super fun, I really enjoyed my time there (save for when I got sick, but I didn't let that stop me). The food was great, family was nice, good to catch up with friends and other familiar faces from my childhood.
Also, Happy New Year! 2019 was pretty awesome! Thank you all so much for a great and fun year, lots of content and new happenings! Here’s to a fun and productive 2020! Stay safe out there!

My Beijing Itinerary
Day 1: Thursday
*Summer palace & gardens
*Meeting Malin and Sophie in Dashilan for dinner! We took the same flight and met by coincidence at the same restaurant
Day 2: Friday
*’Beijing Tours’ Tour C: Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs
- Jade Museum and Factory
- Ming Tombs
- Amazing Chinese local dishes at Mutianyu
- Cable Car to the top of the Great Wall & Hiked to the highest point
- Traditional tea house ceremony
- Passed by the Olympic Village
If you are interested, this is a great tour option and comes with hotel pickup, lunch, an amazing English speaking guide (we had Linda) and all entrance fees.

Reminder: They limit the number of people who can visit the Forbidden City on any one day. I actually went there on the Thursday early afternoon but it was already sold out. You can buy tickets on TripAdvisor so you don’t have to wait in line as the ticket line can be hours long. I ended up moving my train tickets the next day so I had the morning to stay but was lucky. Don’t do what I did and book ahead!
