Speed- boat trip to Tallinn | Helsinki-Tallinn-Helsinki, Linda line
A short visit to Tallinn by a Linda Lina catamaran. Due to changed timetable I had only 2,5 hours time on the land. This was first time travelling on a catamaran speed-boat for me. Morning crossing took over 2,5 hours due to some kind of motor problem on the vessel (this was announced in advance). Return journey was fast, average speed 60 km/h. Distance between Helsinki (Finland)-Tallinn (Estonia) is about 70 km.
Catamarans do not run if it is stormy (wind over 15m/sec). Linda line has used catamarens for several years, the traffick was started by hydrofoils in the 1990's but Lnda changed to catamarans in 2008

Ferry crossing Helsinki to Tallinn: Linda Line high-speed ferry trip review
IMPORTANT: Linda Line filed for bankruptcy in May 2018.
This travel review is dedicated to Linda Lines Express' ferry service. I had the opportunity to try this service as part of a trip to Helsinki (Finland) and Tallinn (Estonia) in July/August 2017.
For those of you following this channel regularly, you might be surprised to see a report dedicated to a ferry service. This is not a departure from my flight reviews: I do like to combine modes of transport as part of a trip (on this occasion flight LHR HEL, then ferry to Tallinn, then flight TLL-HEL followed by HEL to LHR).
Ferry service to Tallinn was operated by Karolin, a high-speed catamaran. For my needs, Linda Line delivered as expected. It was on time, easy boarding, timely crossing, although basic the interior of the ship was functional and comfortable enough for a short crossing (just 100 minutes).
Be aware: This service can be affected by adverse weather conditions (with delays or cancellations) so if you are on a tight schedule, alternative ferry services could be a better alternative. (or check how your travel insurance may cover any additional expenses).

高速船 リンダラインエクスプレス(Linda Line)に乗ると、1時間半でヘルシンキに着きます。 TOURIST Classで１９Euroからとなっていますが、8月19日金曜日、10:00便を当日AM2:00ごろにTallinn → HelsingiのOne Wayをオンライン予約して３５Euroでした。

Linda Line is the fastest way to cross the Gulf of Finland (Tallinn-Helsinki). It takes 1h 30min. Linda Line has a wind limit of 15 metres/second, i. e. they do not traffic in extreme weather conditions. Linda Line fast-speed vesseles leave from the Linnahall Port.

Merilin from Tallinn
Linda Line Merilin from Tallinn is nearing Helsinki. Merilin is a catamaran and at the moment quickest connection (by sea) between Helsinki and Tallinn (travel time 1 h. 30 min). There is however no car deck.

Ferry Estonia-Finland | M/S Nordlandia
Ferry Estonia (Tallinn)-Finnland (Helsinki, West Port). M/S Nordlandia (Eckerö Line).
There are over 10 daily ferry connections by 3 different companies (Tallink, Viking Line, Eckerö line) and a catamaran service (LindaLine). Catamarans do not take cars. M/S Nordlandia is the slowest (crossing takes about 3,5-4 hours) and oldest ferry on this route. It is also the only totally Finnish ferry (under flag of Finland). Viking Line is a Finnish company but the ferry sails under Swedish flag. Eckero line usually has also the cheapest tickets - if you do not have a cabin onbord. Cabin costs around 20 euros but it increases travel comfort.

LindaLine's Karolin is leaving Helsinki (South harbour) for Tallinn (Linnahall Port). Karolin is a catamaran which crosses the Gulf of Finland in 1,5 hours. It does not take any cars (no car deck).

Tallink Megastar shuttle ship cruising between two capital city, Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia. Cruise time over Gulf of Finland is two hours, ship sails three return trip a day.
As a Shuttle ship, new desing for Gulf of Finland cruise ferries is lack of cabins, ship has only 47 of them for passengers.

I must apologize, this was my first trip with a camera added to gimbal. I trust too much a technic, I turn camera too fast, as result, view is sometimes blur.
