Moving Forward While Looking Back | Kristen Minsky | TEDxProvidence
Kristen shares a very personal story and background on her dancing. She culminates the talk with a performance of her dance troupe, The TropiGals.
Kristen Minsky is probably best known as one half of New York’s “1920s tap sensations”, The Minsky Sisters. In addition, she is the Director of both Chifferobe Events and Providence Rhode Island’s only vintage dance company, The TropiGals. Her background includes a BFA in Studio Art and Performance Studies from NYU, an MFA in Sculpture from RISD, and work with the production team for PERFORMA, New York’s world-class biennial focused on visual arts performance. She has been written about in The New York Times, RI Monthly, Providence Journal, Providence Monthly, illustrated in The New Yorker, and pictured in The New York Post, among others.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
